Day 22: 3/17/2024

Not much time today. Either I caught a cold or my allergies kicked in and started hitting me like a two ton... heavy thing.

So, Just a bit of mirror work with a seven iron today.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 80: 3/16/24

Stack Full Speed Spectrum training session 10/24.

Finished 2 mph below my top speed in session 6, and tied for my 3rd fastest of the 10 sessions. Not playing much but hope the training transfers to the course.

Let’s give this a shot

March 17/24 officially day 1 of posting although it’s well beyond that in actuality.

spent about 10 mins hitting balls into a net, working on not adding loft at impact by getting the right wrist into extension through impact. Struggled a bit more today than previous days and felt like I was getting there earlier than I wanted.

then spent 10 minutes chipping. My problem is getting too handsy but I managed to get my body to pivoting a bit more for a much better outcome

Day 503, March 17, 2024

Fifteen minutes at the end of the penultimate JEP weekend (and a lesson) on the downswing stuff. Right wrist was a little tender (only a little) so I didn't want to go too long.

Day 23: 3/17/2024

Backswing without a club, with a piece of pvc, with a club across the collarbone and finally just with a club gripped normally. All in front of the mirrors.
Then some putting through the 50 mm gates into the perfect putt along with the putting mirror and a string drill.

Day 95 (17 Mar 24) - Worked with the 54* wedge in the backyard, focused on engaging the bounce.  Had some solid short pitches - even a couple of dunks into the cup from about 22yds out.  That’s a neat sound the “rattle the flagstick” dunk…and to do it twice in just a few moments….sorry no vid, just a couple of pics after.

Day 24: 3/18/2024

This morning I hung out for a while in front of the mirror working on backswing without a club, with a piece of pvc, with a club across the collarbone and finally just with a club gripped normally. Later on, I did the mirror thing again and then tried to transfer the feels to the hitting net in the garage.

Then some putting through the 50 mm gates into the perfect putt along with the putting mirror and a string drill.

Lastly, I did my overspeed training.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

Day 504, March 18, 2024

Got to Golf Evolution a bit early for lessons, so… 20 minutes of downswing work. Went well. Oddly two of the lessons that followed were similar to my "piece."

Day 96 (18 Mar 24) - Continued work with the Divot Board with the GW and hard foam balls.  Focused on small target/small miss…setup to hit target about 30yds out - success if it hit within 6’ circle of target, fail if outside.  Had decent success averaging about 3 out of 4 (hitting in groups of four).

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
