Day 29: 3/23/2024

All backswing work today.
All of it in front of the mirror.

Some without a club, some with a piece of pvc, some with a club across my shoulders, some with a club in hand.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 114-Hit a bucket at the dome today. Used a bizzare grip and had good strikes but we'll try to make that happen a more conventional way going forward.

Day 510, March 24, 2024

Got 45 minutes of practice in after the last JEP and a lesson. It wasn't great, but it made me slow down just a little and feel like the "throw" carries deeper out to the front and through. Then I was doing well again.

Day 30: 3/24/2024

Got some nice mirror work in. Been working on getting a little pinch in my groin on the backswing. Creating a strong base and not letting my knees get all whacky.

Also spent some time on the putting mat. Using gates and the mirror and the perfect putt.
Tried putting with the Devil ball and I just can't seem to get into it. For me it feels like it takes forever to set that sucker up as it has to be aimed right at your target. If it isn't, it's kind of difficult for me to know if I made a poor stroke or if I simply didn't get the ball aiming at the target. Even using the little marker do-dad that comes with it, just seems like it's a challenge to get it lined up.

Day 10. Bit more time practicing today. Working on slow swings, which is really hard to do. Felt like it came together at the end though. shortening my swing with a swimmer/floatie and closing the face with wrist movement. My path improved when I went slow. Interspersed some chipping to break it up.

Day 89: 3/25/24

Stack Full Speed Spectrum program training session 14/24.

Low on energy and my swing feel yesterday actually slowed down my swing speed by about 5 mph. Finished with my 2nd slowest speed of the 14. Will try again Wednesday.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
