I just got the SuperSpeed radar that measures your actual clubhead (or the SuperSpeed "clubs"). You can use that while actually hitting balls.

Just got mine as well for Christmas.  I've had the swing speed radar for years.

Last Friday I went through the training protocol.  It's tiring...I'm starting it for real this week.  Just need to take a few minutes between clubs.  I do it at the gym after the class.  I plan on using the swing speed radar to do monthly checks.

You're just doing the introductory protocols, right? Three swings righty, three lefty, then on to the next club. So 6 + 6 + 6 + 6.

Then the same pattern but step-swings. So another 24 swings. 48 swings, and maybe three regular righty swings at the end for 51.

Or did you just jump to the Level 1 protocol?

This just measures your swing speed. You swing a club in front of it, it measures the speed. It's not at all like the Mevo, except that both are radars that tell you swing speed. The Mevo does quite a bit more.

I did the introductory protocol, didn't jump to level one.  Tempted of course to do this protocol for a couple weeks instead of a month then do the next levels for the prescribed time.

I'll also do it more than 3 times a week.  Intro though I can see getting a lot out of so I probably will stick it out for the 4 weeks.  The kneeling ones are tough plus they increase the reps.

Middle levels seem long....that'll be my season too.  Really want to stick with the whole thing though.  It must work...u never find anyone dumping them on a forum or eBay...

I hate to be a party pooper, but:  It took nearly two weeks to deliver my X10 trainer, I became excited as I began using it, then it broke, no longer displaying the critical two digits of swing speed,  Also, chunks broke off the shaft (about 10 pieces some as large as my little finger nail).  I am 72 years old, and have a top end swing speed of about 85mph, so the device was not being abused or over stressed.  I messaged them about this - they infer 1 business day responses,  That was two weeks ago, I have sent two reminder inquiries and received NO RESPONSE.  So I must say, the Supersonic X10 swing speed trainer is not durable and the company does not stand behind their product.  Poor quality.  No customer service.

G’day mate.  First post for me and I’m from down under in Australia.  I bought a Super Sonic X10 and it took 8 days to get here. Amazing delivery speed.  And just like you I was waiting with excitement.

Well it arrived last week and I’ve swung it less than 50 times and the LCD is not fully displaying the zero or first number. Currently shows a C, which is one side of the zero missing.  Changed the battery and problem remains. The concept is excellent and I can testify my swing speed has certainly increased and my release improved. I’m very dissapointed but in all fairness, in this age of electronics, maybe it’s just a small fix.

Ive written to the company and asked for help but I’ll give them a few days to respond given it’s now the weekend.  Being on the other side of the world makes returning it at my cost an expensive exercise.  I’m confident they’ll respond positively and I’ll let you know what the response is from the company when I get it.

I’m not one to mess about.  PGA member Peter Kostis endorsed this product. I’ve now written to him to let him know of my issue.  Why you may ask?  Well it was his unequivocal and unconditional endorsement that sold me on this product.  If he wants to put his name to a piece of junk, I’ll let the world know.  But I’ve used the X10 and it works so I don’t think he put his name to a piece of junk.  My speed increased significantly and so did my release.  It’s just the LCD that is not working.  So don’t get me wrong; the concept is excellent and it’s an electronics glitch regrettably.  I’ll let you know when I get responses from Golf Tailor and/or Peter Kostis.

Thanks. We would not hear about these type of product issues without folks posting them on this forum. I'm always skeptical of "reviews" that are linked to product sites. But here in the forum, you can really tell if the review is real.

Not trying to promote another site, but at the link below are some further reviews of the Sonic X10. Unfortunately for me, it appears there may be an inherent problem with the quality of the speedometer.  I believe these are built in China so it could be poor quality electronics, poor workmanship or simply poor design, or a combination of all. Regardless, the concept is real. It’s effective and a genuinely useful training aid.  If they get the speedometer working effectively and undertake some extended quality testing and trials that would be great.

What would extend quality testing look like?  Hank Haney suggests 100 swings a day to help improve your swing.  I got less than 50 swings from my X10 before LCD failure.  If I followed Hanks plan using the X10 and did it 5 days per week, that would be 500 swings per week.  Over 12 months (usual warranty time), you’d expect that this could survive 26,000 swings at that rate.  2 years, 52,000 swings.  That’s a lot of use and a lot of strain on electronics so using cheap components won’t cut it.

The tool has actually improved my swing speed through improved lag and improved my release.  It’s such a shame the Speedo can’t cope with the physical forces at play.  The speedo is a good source of instant feedback and without it, Is like a dog with 3 legs.

Anyway see other reviews here.

Well an update on the Super Sonix X10.  My good heart, honesty and patience have been taken for granted by the Golf Tailor.  Despite an email request for assistance, I’ve had no response.  In addition, it is likely I will need to pay for postage of the Super Sonic X10 back to the USA from Australia at a cost of a little over $100 AUD.

Ok. I understand things happen, but I’ve now found many more customers who are claiming the same LCD fault and the dismal customer service.  Peter Kostis, how could you put your name to this product? Peter Kostis, why didn’t you have the decency to respond to my email? Despite my good intentions and hope that I could get a positive result from Golf Tailor, I now warn everyone who is considering buying a Super Sonic X10 - DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. POOR DESIGN. LOW QUALITY ELECTRONICS. POOR AFTER SALES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The product has a high failure rate with the Speedometer.

And even more info: I pulled the X10 apart today to try to find out what the problem is.  It was immediately obvious.

The LCD panel is held in place by the numerous short solder that connects it to the circuit board.  The first solder had broken. WHY?  Because the LCD panel has no support whilst undergoing significant physical force and energy apart from the solders.  It sits above the circuit board by about 3-4mm and is not secure. As a result it flexes and so does the solder, which inevitably breaks causing LCD failure.

I re soldered mine and inserted a small piece of rubber between the LCD panel and the circuit board and secured it with silicone.  Used more silicone to cover the solders as well. And guess what? It now works again.  I’m not sure how long it will last but I suspect longer than 50 swings. Already added another 20 tests.

All up, the Super Sonic X 10 has a serious flaw in the electronics soldering, in the housing for the LCD panel and a design fault whereby the LCD panel can “flex” and hinge solely off the solders between LCD panel and circuit board. The image is not the best but it shows the break in the solder on the far right.

I cannot recommend this product and would suggest to steer clear of it and the company.
