I am leaving on a 4 day trip to Innisbrook today.  We are playing Copperhead, the Island course twice and the North course.  To me it will be especially interesting because I have the Island course on my golf simulator.  I got it recently and have played it a bunch.  I have never played a course that I have played on the simulator.

I am very excited.  Probably setting myself up for disappointment.  At the end of last season I started scoring a lot better.  My ball striking improved, it showed itself in greens hit and proximity to the hole.  I finally became more connected.  It limits my big misses and makes my distance control much better.  That good play has continued on the simulator.  I am hoping to throw up at least a couple good rounds.  We will see.

Has anyone done Innisbrook?

You'll be surprised at the number of hills for a Florida course. Very nice resort all around and the weather here the next 4 days looks perfect for golf. A little chilly in the morning but nice all afternoon. Enjoy!

Had a chance to do it 4 years ago during a trip to the Tampa area but got rained out. Went down and played Waterlefe down in Bradenton instead. Very nice 'resort' type, super manicured course.

Hit 'em well! Always nice to catch a good break from the cold.

Thanks, I filled my travel humidor with some nice Rocky Patels for the trip.

I played in the Golf Channel end of year tournament here 2 years ago.  We played Copperhead, Island, North (and Fox Hollow off the Innisbrook facility).  I liked Copperhead the best.  It seemed like the course that was tough but fair.  Was cool playing the "snake pit."  I don't think it's as snaky as it reputation implies though.  Seems like the Island was my least favorite, really narrow and if you missed the fairway those scrubby trees kinda sucked up your ball.

Had a blast though and really enjoyed the experience (even though it was some of my crappiest golf for the season).  Hope you have a great time too.

Bruce

    • Day 41: Pitching/chipping into the net. A few full swings with driver hitting Almost Golf balls.
    • Day 568, May 23, 2024 Loooooooong day today. Got some shadow work done with an umbrella.
    • Day 148: 5/23/24 Hit balls on the range measuring ball speed for each club. Recently watched a fitting video where the fitter said he targeted 5 mph ball speed increase for each club.  Mine weren’t quite there. 4 and 5 mph were pretty similar except for 1 ball. Big jump for hybrid, bigger jump for 4-hybrid, and huge change for driver. Swung for the fences with driver and hit them all pretty straight at the end of my session. Several at 111 mph, which is above my normal speed. Finished with chipping release 1 with several clubs.  Good session!
    • Birdied 15 at my home course today and made a birdie the other day at a course I don’t usually play. Will update the spreadsheet once I’m home on my computer.
    • Day 70. Played 9 at Grand Niagara. Very very windy day, but I hit the ball well for me. The wind did help me hit my longest drive ever at 282y and I did make a birdie on a par 5.
