All the more to have it cleaned while you enjoy a round? No body needs to drive your car. And your normal washes wouldn’t rectify scratches and offer a professional job Not to mention the saving our planet side of things?

There are dozens of mobile car retailers out there now.

What you’re describing isn’t new.  If you think you have some kind of competitive advantage that will allow you to penetrate a well saturated market, go for it.  I just haven’t heard anything new from you.

Of course, your local market may be different.  In that case, I’d recommend an in-depth local SWOT analysis to evaluate the feasibility of your venture, rather than asking a bunch of guys, none of whom live in your area.

Sorry for that I understand your opinion yes there are lots of car wash guys out there I meant more in specific golf clubs not while you wait scrub washes, every time I go to my club I see lots of nice cars dirty I thought why not while the cars sitting doing nothing offer a exclusive service NOT just a wash but cosmetic paint repairs while you play, i think there are differences areas as we have them in multi storey car parks doing very well in multiple sites.

Cheers

Depends what you’d like doing the best wash would be an Albatross then eagle ,birdie , par for your standard clean. Ranging from £7-£69 plus lots of extras like chips touched up scratches looked at professionally, 4 year guaranteed waxes ceramic etc...

I'm pretty into detailing so personally I wouldn't trust someone else with a waterless wash, I'd just do it myself with foam cannon and 2 bucket method at my house.

I do have a couple questions

  • How could you possibly offer an entire ceramic coating to be done in under 5 hours? (possibly even 4)
    • In order to do a proper ceramic coating, I would expect the vehicle to be washed, then decontaminated both chemically (ironx or similar) and mechanically, (clay bar/nanoskin auto scrub) plus at the very least a full 1 step paint correction process with something like M205 or similar before any ceramic coating would even go on the car. Then the rims and tires would have to be at least washed as well. Even with 2 people that would be difficult to accomplish in 5 hours. If the customer has a large SUV or truck, no chance.
    • Just a waterless wash followed by a ceramic coating would be a horrible idea for most cars in my opinion. The coating will not stick as well, especially since you said your waterless wash solution leaves behind a wax.
  • What wax do you use that you can offer a 4 year guarantee on it? I wouldnt offer anything more than 6 months, maybe a year at the absolutely most if youre in an area that is warm year-round and sees minimal rain/snow.

I like the idea of the waterless wash and possibly chips touched up (you'd just have to keep a lot of different paint colors in stock in your work vehicle) but much more than the waterless wash and paint chip repair isnt worth it for you or the customer IMO.

Hi there

like a said in previous, I have 20 years experience with paint and body repair and 100% understand the process on applying ceramic wax, the supplier offers a 4 year gaurentee as do most on a proper ceramic wax not just your cheap super guards, I myself being a paint professional working on high end vehicles thought waterless wash would scratch your paint but after extensive testing it is actually a brilliant product, I also stated the word cosmetic detailing which means no where near the cost of a detailing job of around £600. We would easily be able to apply the waxes properly in a 3-4 hour time window also tested and trialed the wax we use is superb but like you say the wash and touched would also be great

thanks for your feedback

Again… @jamiesmith900… have you got enough market research now? You've not even logged on here in about two years until this topic.

If you still play golf, please, post about that.

We haven't spent 14 years building TST so you can use it to conduct market research. Particularly since we're here in the U.S., almost all of us, and you're in the UK.

Yep, we brits are few and far between and at the price that was quoted, as a tight Yorkshireman, i almost fainted!

Think the idea of having it done during a round is a bit of a tenuous link to golf.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
