Cold and Windy

Played Cherry Creek on the east end of Long Island , NY yesterday. 45 to 50 degrees which wouldn't have been that bad but we had about 25 MPH winds with higher gusts, cold. It really impacts your game. Tried to play the wind, it would move a drive five to six feet. Every hole we felt like we were driving into the wind. Pretty bad conditions but we had fun. Anybody else play in those conditions?

Yes, and worse! A couple of buddies and I actually got out for our first round of the year today. It was quite comfortable if you dressed properly, but the course was sopping wet and a chore to play! But, we have it out of our systems and can now wait for better conditions.

With all the snow that melted and rain that been going through there must've been a lot of plugged balls and soggy feet... LOL  I'm on high ground and my backyard looks like a swamp...

I'll see your cold, windy, and raise you wet weather. My last 2-1/2 rounds have had some rain mixed in. 

Playing with layered clothing, and rain gear on, makes for an intetesting swing. Way too many 6s showing up on my scores. Not what I am use to playing in. 

Luckily, by traveling south now, we are getting into better weather. That's a good thing, since we have some top knotch courses coming up. 

I saw my home course is having sunny 70*F temps. For the next 7 days even. Kind of makes me home sick just a little.

We had the whole shebang here yesterday. Cold, gusty wind and wet. It was so bad they had to close the driving range as the ball collector got stuck in the mud slap bang in the middle of the range!

Not really. I don't find it enjoyable to play in blustery chilly/cold conditions. If I had to for a tournament, then I will. If it is mid to high 40's, It has to be a calm day for me to go out and play.

I played 9 holes this past Saturday in 20-25 mph winds. Hard to tell how I was hitting it. Most felt solid but the wind just blew it all over the place. It has been windy quiet a bit around here (Tampa) the past couple months (at least when I am able to get to the golf course). It could be worse....it could be raining....

Funny thing was when we left to go play it wasn't windy by our homes, maybe wind was blocked by trees, but we got there and paid our greens fees then got to the first tee and that is when we felt the wind, weird. I pulled a drive and ended up on a brown patch, couldn't tell what it was till we got there, it was an old snow bank. I took relief for an unplayable, I'm not hitting off an old snow drift, sorry. But it did cost me a stoke, (yes I counted it, not sure if I should have). I too carded a number of 6s, even a 7. But we had fun and that is all that counted.
