Has anyone tried these clubs? They interest me being a relatively high handicapper. The certainly would simplify my bag, (getting rid of my two hybrids and 7 wood). I'm looking at the 4 through PW set, ( I have trouble hitting long irons).

The Launcher HB irons would really hit the ball high - but possibly too high.

Also check out the Launcher CBX: good lofts and head design, but slightly heavier shaft.

Given I puled the trigger I'll let you know how they work out. I live on Long Island, NY so it will be a while given we're facing another nor'easter on Wednesday. When will Spring really arrive????

I love mine.  It did take me a few rounds to get used to them since the longer iron’s hybrid construction was a different look and feel, but I love them now!

When the road crews start working on the roads, I feel your pain.

The roads do need a lot of work, this winter, especially March, has been a bitch. Can't wait for spring but they are predicting our being in the 40s for at least the next week.

Yeah, we're getting some 40s this week, too.

I received the Cleveland HB Launcher irons yesterday and took them to the range today. I purchased the 4 through the gap wedge, (which they call a "dual" wedge, marked with a "D", go figure). Anyway, hit around 100 balls off the mat and I can say that I really like the clubs. With my swing they don't launch the ball that high, nice flight. I can't really tell distance given they are range balls and they were cold, (high 40s today) but shots were straight and felt good off the club. Can't wait to get them on the course and hit off of real grass. I will have to dial in the length though, they "feel" longer than my G25s.

How much longer @cooke119, about a half a club or so?

At least half a club, probably more. I like hybrids and that is what these clubs are. I really liked the feel and flight of the 5 and 4 irons (hybrids).

I watch a lot of Mark Crossfield reviews / VLOGs and I did watch this review, one of the reasons I purchased them. So far, so good.

Will finally play with the new clubs this coming Friday (the 13th). Can't wait to play them off of grass. The range I go to, (only one open in the winter), has horrible balls so I have little to no idea what the distance is going to be with each club. I guess I'll start with my "usual " distance and see what happens. I haven't played for months so this will be interesting.

Will do, I'm also hitting the Costco Kirkland four piece ball so new clubs, new ball, should be interesting.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
