OK here goes -  I had 3 holes-in-one on the same hole in the space of 6 weeks. All with the same club too, 4 iron. No pushover either - 180 yards. All in competition too. They changed the hole after that, it was getting too easy!

Congrats, but that’s not really the topic here @Chanceman.

I’m gonna buck the trend and say I wouldn’t note it as a hole in one personally. The green wasn’t designed to take a shot from that length, the tee was temporary, and for handicapping you probably had to write down par+handicap anyway.

But that’s me, and if I was in the clubhouse when you were playing, I might just stick around for my free drink. ;-)

I'm sure there's a reason behind it, but I've always thought it was weird that the person that hit the hole in one is supposed to buy everyone else drinks. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Or is the thought that since you got the hole in one and nobody else did you're supposed to pay for the drinks since you'd probably be the happiest one there?

Yeah I have wondered that too, but grew to understand it’s just the nature of the game. The game is so hard that even when you do well it costs you!

I keep hearing that "hole in ones" happen in bunches. I wonder why that is. I had my first two about a month apart. It took another 20 years to get the third. Maybe number four is right around the corner.

Taylor Made R7 (x-stiff).
Taylor Made Burner 2 irons (stiff)
Cleveland Wedges (gap and 60)
