My current handicap index or average score is: 15
My typical ball flight is: Not sure?
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Chunk

Hey everyone - just looking for a little help here.  By far my biggest issue is the dreaded chunk.  When I hit the ball clean, my distance is great, and accuracy is good as well.

I have been hitting the range often, and am lowering the # of chunks but on any given bucket of balls (100) I would say that at least 15-20% are chunked and they drive me frigging NUTS!!

Does anyone see anything here in my swing that may indicate why I am doing it or what I can do to try to eliminate it?  All of these swings were hit cleanly so not sure if that is going to help or if I need to repost a vid of when I actually chunk it.

OR just any improvements in general?

Thanks!

Your stance is too wide.

Work on this:

Well it's immediately obvious as to why you constantly chunk the ball. Anyone would with that much horizontal sway away from the target!

Hey - are you meaning how much my body is moving from back to front?  Sorry all of this swing analysis is new to me  🙂

Is there a vid anywhere that shows what SHOULD be happening so I can try to minimize the movement?

Yes. A professional hitting an iron is probably moving something like an inch to the right at the furthest point with the pelvis as a reference point. I'd like to see the stance narrower for sure and I'd really like to see some outward flare of the feet. I think this is a really good practice for people who might have problems with the lead leg caving in.

Great thanks!  I will give it a shot when I am at the range next.  😁

No problem! Give this thread a read as well. Imo one of the best on this entire site (and there are a hell of a lot of good ones).
