Hello. I just got back into golf. After having my right index finger amputated 2 weeks ago, my friends basically told me I'll never be able to play again. Well......they may be right but after a golf hiatus of 10 yrs, I'm determined to find away to play & play well, again. So, here I am. It may take a year, may take 10 but I'm gonna find away to be an above average golfer.

So sorry to hear about your situation but you are very welcome here at TST.    Myself and many others have played golf with players with more severe handicaps who performed well.   You can do this.

Welcome to The Sand Trap. I've read that Vijay and Sergio have practiced holding their right index finger off the grip, so I think you should be OK. It will take adjustment. Let us know your progress and how we can help.

If you start a My Swing thread or a thread in the Instruction and Playing Tips section, you will get help.

There is also the thread below. You can ask there and our resident instructors can help.

My condolences on your loss, but it won't take that long for a guy with your attitude. I have RA in my right hand and have difficulty gripping at all. I'm finding my right index finger more or less kind of looks like a loose trigger finger. A little more grip in my left hand helps. Anyway, you are receiving good advice from better players than me.
