I'm not so crazy on how the categories are organized. Slack is a mix of productivity and social if you use it for work and personal. I do like the app limits feature though.

MOST of the time I'm on The Sand Trap I'm on one of my computers, and most of the time I'm reading DK it's in the morning or when I'm away from the computer. Computers mostly still = work.

Also, my use of social media is almost all "business."

Also, the wife and kid were off on Friday and Monday so my usage was a little higher this week than most weeks.

I really only use email (work and personal) and Instagram.

I’ve seen up to 9 hours so we’re probably on the low side. Usually a good portion is social media.

I find Instagram is a bit of a gold mine in terms of golf instruction. Whereas in 2005-2015 it was all YouTube, now it is all moved to Instagram. It is still too many good athletes making beautiful swings (which has absolutely nothing to do with me, as I am neither), but occasionally I find a few good drills for something I was trying to figure out how to do. Like YouTube you still need a filter to forget 90% of what you see, but 5-10% is useful.

Ultimately it is still wasting time. That is the main reason I eliminated Twitter. I was just wasting time. I'd rather put that time into a book.

The other interesting thing is when I would read email on my BlackBerry I would find myself able to reply much easier. My typing is much slower on the the iPhone than when I was using the BlackBerry. I have been toying with the idea of using two phones. One for work emails and one for personal stuff. I haven't figured out the best solution, but I now need to pop open the laptop when I want to write an email of more than a couple of sentences.

I use Screentime to limit social media to 1.5 hours/day which makes me use it more sparingly.

I am addicted to information but I’m not nearly as bad as digital natives, the youngs. With the ubiquity of high quality video, social media lets you go to places in an instant, see live music, new places, food, events, hard to keep away.

Also, I noticed some instructors are posting more before and after vids, some with explanations of the changes.

I think it was through social media I found out about MirrorVision so quickly.

I have to admit, following Instagram Stories lately, it has been cool following the people at the PGA Show. It's the closest thing I'm going to get to actually going there. There is a lot of video this time.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
