I like to walk number nine across from my house for exercise. I like being in the woods and I carry. A five gallon bucket and pick up strays. The woods on nine are ob so I generally pick up 20-50 balls every 3-4 days. I generally clean them keep the pro v1 and give the rest to the juniors.

I noticed the other day I had a significant number of balls that are a little lopsided  here is my evil question. I throw those in a separate bucket when I clean them. Should I give those to my buddies who I play against just to watch the poor rolls on the greens?

Having fun, while using a little gamesmanship is not a bad deal among friends.

Maybe if some skins are involved, pranks would not be welcome. This of course would depend on the temperment of the golfers involved.

We do stupid, fun stuff when our close group of friends gets together. I will have to try the OP's out of round ball trick.

Not every round a golfer plays has to be of a serious nature.

You know your buddies better than anyone else. Maybe on the practice green or something.

Some guys I know might give you back the lopsided ball in your soon-to-be lopsided head.

I have a wicked side of me that loves practical jokes.  But, I tend to play them with an eye to minimizing the revenge of my friends. Great idea though, I have a few that are slightly out of round.

My buddy and I only get to play together a couple times a year. I’m thinking give him a hundred or so and then just wait awhile to tell him. He’s so cheap though I figure he will still play them and justify it. Lol. Last time he came to town he Found? A couple hundred balls in my garage. I was just going to help him!  Que evil laughter!

Sounds too funny 😁, but if he uses found balls a lot I’d have to guess he’s used to wobbly putts and funny fade-hooks and draw slice ball flights already 🤪🤪😂

I actually enjoy giving them to juniors. I’ve had a lot of thanks from kids and I always tell them to do something nice for someone else to repay me. I wash all the balls and they get nice shiny balls lol

  • 2 weeks later...

At my course anything I find goes in the fish bowl for them to sell for a buck.  Round or not round wouldn't make a difference for the crap that plays at my place.

    • I know you guys were discussing this like a year ago. But, ironically I just had this discussion with my brother-in-law. We literally just did one of these. I'd always used the "Slow-Cook, Rest, and Sear" Method. But my bother-in-law was convinced the "5-Min/lb, 500 degree" method was the way. So, we gave it a go. I have to say it came out great.  I have a 25 year old, electric oven, GE brand... Not sure if that matters, but it came out great. ... Of course we stressed that nobody was to open the oven.   I don't make these all that often so, I'm not sure if I can fully recommend one method or the other, because without doing a Pepsi Challenge, I'd say both ways come out great. 👍😁👍
