  1. Helluva round by Fowler, especially considering he has a triple bogey on the card.
  2. I'm heading to the course on Friday. The greens look great and this is arguably the most high profile event Charlotte has hosted. Awesome for the State of NC.
  3. I play the Snell My Tour Ball because it is the best performing ball. Jason Day: -13 Branden Grace: -13 Steve Stricker: -12 I play the Snell My Tour Ball because they perform better than all other golf balls. Brooks Koepka: -15 Branden Grace: -9 Robert Streb: - 9
  4. Quail Hollow is spectacular as always but I have to say I'm not a fan of the changes. I actually always liked #1 as a starting hole, but they've turned it into a 524 yard (par 4!) monstrosity. Then they cut up #5 from an interesting par 5 to a mundane par 3 and par 4. In general, the course is looking barer than ever with seeming removal of a lot of trees. Still, one of my favorite courses and I look forward to seeing what happens out there this week
  5. I am Staying Ahead of the Game with Sun Mountain! 1) Jason Day -8 2) Billy Horschel -3 3) Jason Dufner -1
  6. So this statement, listed within the rules, is actually incorrect: - In other words, if someone chooses Joe Smith for their first choice - at any score - and you choose him for your second choice, you've wasted your choice. Additionally, if someone chooses Joe Smith at -2 for their first choice, it makes no sense to choose Joe Smith at -2 for any of your choices if you're posting after that entry (unless the person is DQed or ineligible, of course).
  7. Jordan might just run away with this. Everyone else backing up, he opens with birdies on two of the 1st three holes.
  8. it gets worse, he was within 2 feet for his par putt!
  9. Els seven-putted the 1st hole!
  10. Rick Fowler is no bueno today.
  11. PING is going to help me be fast and forgiving with the new G Driver and Crossover! 1) Rory McIlroy -8 2) Bill Haas -12 3) Angel Cabrera -12
  12. DJ off to the races again.....seen this movie before.

  15. Maybe DJ needs to be well off the lead in the final round. Damn, that was tough today. Becoming the Weiskoph of his era? I'll go back to him on the tee times below, has the ability to shoot 64-65 and hope the weather takes a change for the worse for the leaders. I'll be cheering on the ams and Jason Day to get his first, but if the kid gets the first 3 majors in a calendar year, I'll be perfectly fine with that. 12:25 p.m. — Jim Furyk, Dustin Johnson 12:35 p.m. — Marc Warren, Hideki Matuyama, 12:45 p.m. — Anthony Wall, Stewart Cink 1:00 p.m. — Patrick Reed, Ryan Palmer 1:10 p.m. — Rickie Fowler, Steven Bowditch 1:20 p.m. — Charl Schwartzel, Eddie Pepperell 1:30 p.m. — Danny Willett, Zach Johnson 1:40 p.m. — Adam Scott, Robert Streb 1:50 p.m. — Retief Goosen, Justin Rose 2:00 p.m. — Jordan Niebrugge (a), Sergio Garcia 2:10 p.m. — Padraig Harrington, Marc Leishman 2:20 p.m. — Jordan Spieth, Jason Day 2:30 p.m. — Paul Dunne (a), Louis Oosthuizen
  16. Not sure if they should have started this morning, but other guys had to play in some rough weather. That is how this Championship has always been. You get a bad draw and you deal with the hand you are dealt. The only way you can make it completely fair is for a shotgun start off of every hole with every player on the course at the same time but we all know that is not feasible. Spieth and Johnson both had the option of playing out last night on the 14th like Matsuyama. Right now I bet both wish they had.
  17. I wonder if this will be rock bottom for Tiger? Missing the cut by a wide margin at a major location where he has won twice is really really bad. I thought his sucktitude was temporary, but he's starting to look like Mike Weir.
  18. I was B-Fit for Bridgestone Tour B330-S golf balls Adam Scott -8 Hunter Mahan -9 Keegan Bradley -9
  19. Some good stuff today and the course won a few battles too, probably the majority of the battles. Somebody that goes out early tomorrow is going to shoot a 66-67 something like that and they will be right in the middle of it on Sunday. It could really be a bunched leader board come Sunday evening. Somebody like Rory or Phil or some virtual nobody is going to make a run tomorrow and then sit back and watch the carnage in the late groups. If the USGA does what I think they will, then the lead may only be -2 or -3 going into Sunday. Speith played a really good round and Johnson and Reed both played well at times, but the afternoon group was scorched today. The greens don't look great but they roll pretty well early. As the grass grows and they dry up, then they get rough. Mickelson had two or three putts that bobbled and hopped and got offline. I'm sure many of the other guys had the same problem in the afternoon. With only about 60 players tomorrow they might hold up a little better, but they still will not be easy because of all the slopes. Buckle your seat belts boys. Tomorrow could be wild.
  20. I want outrageous speed with a Callaway XR driver! Justin Rose -2 Ernie Els -2 Retief Goosen -2
  21. It's a links course and with those dry conditions, it will be playing like one. Better have an idea about the ground game. May take Tiger's issues out of his hands. Last time a major was played on a course this firm was '06 Hoylake according to McDowell. Who won that event without hitting a driver all week? Hmmmm.....not saying Tiger will win but this course may allow him to avoid his driving issues.
  22. If Tiger could just get off the tee, he could play with anyone right now. Jason Day said the same thing. I guess he played a practice round with him and said his iron play and putting were terrific.
  23. Jordan Spieth is playing lights out. If he continues like this then he will win, but there is still a long way to go. Norman lost a 7 shot lead in one day. Mickelson made up 5 shots in 15 minutes in 2010 with his eagles on 13 and 14 and a near eagle on 15. All depends on the course and how well Spieth handles things. I think somebody will have to run him down with two great rounds, but it still could be interesting. Charley Hoffman would have the lead in 73 of the previous 78 Masters with his score. Tiger and Sergio paired together should be interesting.
  24. Last week in Houston, Spieth started blocking shots at the very end when he was tied for the lead. Johnny Miller said it's his one flaw under pressure. Will a 4-5 shot lead keep him relaxed or will the tournament begin on the back nine on Sunday? Norman lost a 6-7 shot lead in nine holes. All of the guys within 10-12 shots want to shoot 65-66 today to get within range of a collapse because it will likely take a collapse by Spieth.
  25. Baker-Finch, the #2 CBS analyst, takes over #17 for Oosterhuis. Nobilo takes Baker-Finch's old seat at #11 and #12. May have been his bosses call, but if I was Baker-Finch, I'd have stayed at #11 and #12. First two holes of Amen Corner and has often been the spot of playoff finishes.
