Something very interesting about that film: Phil isn't in it.

Our greens were redone with bent and enlarged back to their original size a few years back. It took about two years for the recovered areas to match the rest of the greens and those areas were aggressively aerated over the last couple of years. They putted fine but they looked different. Now you can't tell any difference.

Disaster on Saturday. Really regressed in my work on my swing path. It was cold and windy so that didn't help, but still. Only two pars. 48-47-95

Played nine holes the other day and my course in Philly is firming up nicely. First time this year with no mud on the ball.

Improving m swing path, although still a work in progress. Positive vibes.

His “club” should be able to do that without copy and paste. Unless the system has changed. I did that a couple of years ago to set up a book for a tournament.

I sometimes take my driver headcover off and put it in my bag (it is a pain in the ass getting it off and on), but I always leave the putter, fairway woods and hybrid covers on so they don't bang on the shaft of the driver.

I don't know what I shot yesterday. It was so bad that I stopped keeping score. There were some extenuating circumstances. I just took a first-of-season lesson a couple of days ago and am trying to tweak my swing path so I was just there to hit at the range. There were a couple of guys who wanted another player to help with the pace of play because twosomes are no fun surrounded by foursomes, so I decided to join them. Big mistake. Plus it was around 39-40 degrees with a steady 15 MPH wind with gusts up to 30 MPH, and that made it feel like 30 degrees. They were a couple of nice guys who are very good players and I felt sorry for them to have to watch my nightmare round. I am not going back on the course until I get some more range time.

That's where I am on this.

But isn't the PGA Tour a member organization with parameters? Greg keeps up incessantly about them being independent contractors, but being a member of the Tour is kind of a privilege, Isn't it?

It certainly keeps me focused. If I have a poor front it is a motivation to get it in gear on the back rather than let it lead to further lackluster play. We don't play for a lot but it is enough for a nice dinner and a movie, but even just a few bucks is worth the bragging rights. So, yes, I believe it sharpens my game.

I am committed to the game and it is far more enjoyable when I am playing well. We have a great range that makes it almost as enjoyable as playing. At my age, it is awesome that I can actually still get better. Plus, I play for money, so there's that. 😎

If you are doing something that takes a lot of time and you want to bring it into a marriage, you better have an understanding before you take the vows. I was already a member at a club before I met my wife. While courting, I made it pretty clear that I spend a lot of time on golf and she made it clear the she spends a lot of time on her dogs. It was an easy transition for both of us and, now, I don't mind having multiple dogs and she has tried golf on occasion. She can really golf a ball but she will never commit fully so she probably won't ever be any good at it score wise. The dogs? When I go home I am in their world and at least they tolerate me.

I have to wonder what the Saudis are thinking about Phil admitting that he was intentionally playing them. I wouldn't be travelling anywhere in that part of the world if I were Phil.

I take it out inside 15 feet. It is visual to me. When I am close enough to see the whole hole, the hole just looks bigger and I see the pin as a distraction. I have no interest in "studies" that say it is an advantage to leave the pin. I have had very good putts at a decent speed bounce off the pin and not drop. I assume there were other times when I lipped out that the pin may have caught the ball, but that is speculation and I will never know. I just like to see the whole hole.

The only one that hit me hard was the booster but it was over in a day. Wouldn't stop me from getting one farther down the line. I get flu shots ever year and I expect that there will be yearly ones for Covid as well.

I hate playing poorly conditioned golf courses. While I have had many opportunities to play some of the top golf courses in the country, I am just as happy on a well conditioned muni.

My goals have nothing to do with scoring. I will spend more time with my teaching pro. I will spend more time at the short game range than the range tee box. I will spend more time on the putting green than the couple of minutes before my tee time. The scoring will come.

You are right about that but there are other factors with those two. Dustin has the personality of dry toast and I don't know anyone who really cares about whether or not he is in a field. And I don't know anyone who likes DeChambeau. Those two would not be missed by the majority of golf fans but I also don't think they are going anywhere.

Of course good play will build confidence. Just like putting in the requisite work will create good play. But you have to have confidence to take it to the golf course. You have to trust what you are doing. If it working, you aren't even aware that it is confidence. Confidence is trust. In golf it is difficult to carry over because sometimes your best swing is not rewarded. Rub of the green, right? I think Shiffrin lost her confidence before she even got to Beijing. She had banked her skills beforehand and was the face of these Olympics in America. That is incalculable pressure and I think that scared the shit out of her and she didn't trust that all of her good work would pay off. Her skiing out in the slalom was pathetic, she is way too good for that to happen. There will be books written about what happened to her.

Well, my brother got to play Augusta and he says it exceeded his expectations. They flew early into Augusta, played that afternoon, a tour and dinner in the clubhouse and a night in the cabins. Breakfast in the morning (no menus, just, what do you want?), 18 more that morning and the par three course in the afternoon. Birdied 12 and 16. He is still floating on air.
