The only thing I found confusing was how it was presented on the broadcast last weekend. The commentators kept talking about having to finish in the top 30 and because it was a playoff, I thought they meant top 30 of the tournament they were currently playing. Apparently not. So that makes calling last week a playoff kind of confusing.

1. Play with your friends at slow times or less-busy courses, even if that means playing lower-quality courses (The Golf Gods will not strike you down, I promise.) 2. Be honest that sometimes you and your friend sometimes want to play better courses and not want to deal with them OR that they have to pick up their ball if they're affecting pace of play. 3. You have your best, average, and worst scores. You can't expect to shoot 84 today because you shot it yesterday. 4. Not every round of golf has to be played for a score. Why not just go out and have fun with your friends?

The last time I listened to Breed, he went into painful detail about how many pockets your bag should have, exactly what should be in each one, that you should have 3 gloves in your glove pocket, and exactly why you have three gloves. Riveting stuff. Unfortunately, I had to turn it off before he went into what color my tees should be and why. So him saying "the game of golf" a lot really doesn't bother me.

That's not true, actually. Pockets are cut differently (different sizes and face angles), rails play differently based on how tight the cloth is and how worn it is, and cloth plays differently as well. And that kind of proves my point: it takes a die-hard pool fan to know the nuances enough to appreciate what they're watching. When it's only the die-hards watching it, you're probably not going to see as much of it.

Maybe, maybe not. I think about professional pool. For the general public, it's pretty boring to watch because every shot is so "easy". People don't understand what goes into pocketing a ball and getting perfect shape on the next one. So watching golf, when everyone is putting the ball in the middle of the fairway, then just hitting a wedge onto the green, and shooting at the pin, will eventually get boring to watch.

The commentator on the original video did say "and you wonder why they were put on the clock on the 10th hole." So there was that. I don't know if a warning was given but if the rules say you get a warning after being put on the clock, then the rule needs to change. Putting a player on the clock should act as the warning and if the rule is 30-40 seconds to hit a shot, no grown adult should bitch if they're given a penalty after 2 minutes whether they were given a warning or not. I don't want to unjustly punish players but at the same time, I expect them to take responsibility for their actions which is something BDC is frequently unwilling to do. He has a very common behavior: dance around the edge of rule-breaking, complain/blame others when he's held to account, capitulate and apologize after he gets push-back from the people around him/social media. Remember that funky putter he tried to use last year?

Golfers hide behind the "I'm playing for a lot of money" defense and roles officials simply don't want to defend themselves when they make the call to penalize a player. Stalemate, until people stop watching golf at all. Rules officials need to man up, make the call, and then stand by it. "Social media backlash" ends as fast as it starts, they'll survive it. 2 minutes for a putt on Friday should have been no brainier.

True. What I meant to say is that turning to a Golf forum isn't the correct path. And if hubby doesn't want to go to counseling, the OP has her answer.

For what it's worth, the OP has a problem with the husband's behavior. It doesn't matter whether it's golf or drugs or anything else. She brought it up and the husband didn't respond positively. Maybe hubby is just using golf to avoid something at home, maybe he's just that selfish. Maybe the OP presented her position poorly and hubby thinks she wants him to completely give up the game. If the OP wants the marriage to work, they need to go to a qualified counselor. To give an example of miscommunication, one day we put an old TV on the curb for free. Eventually a guy pulls over and looks it over. My wife yells from upstairs "GO TELL THAT GUY THAT THE TV WORKS." As I'm putting on shoes, the guy takes the TV and drives away. My wife comes down and says, "I asked you to go talk to that guy." I said, "No you didn't." She said, "Yes I did, I said 'go tell him the TV works'!" I'm a pretty mellow guy and I've been with my wife a long time and know that what comes out of her mouth isn't always exactly what she means. Not everyone picks up on stuff like that.

Not a very surprising list, in my opinion.

It's a little old but I'm still riding the wave... about 5-6 weeks ago, I shot 43 over nine holes.

As one of the peeps quoted, I want to point out that (a) I essentially included everyone in the blame for not buying print and (b) I was being facetious.

Bummer. They're not helping themselves trying to sell such a thin magazine for $7. Stupid millennials (and all the gen x and baby boomers who also aren't buying print.)

Is it me or is this happening more frequently this year? Wolff wins his third start. Last week, the winner got in as the last alternate. Did someone win a Monday qualifier and win recently too? There's some truth in this. Everyone was making birdies on Saturday except him.

Dave Pelz is a short-game guy. He pretty much says so in his Chipping and Putting books. The guy who drives it long. He's going to have easier/closer approach shots which means he'll be at or inside 5 feet more often than me.

It's hard to take the OP seriously after there was a similar thread about Woods after the Masters.
