  1. i think your right now that I'm thinking about it. all the top level balls seem to be very similar. on short chips I do see the difference with it checking up more on the urethane balls apposed to the alternative.
  2. i would see a doctor. im a bit hard headed, and let my body heal naturally. I give it a few weeks and my body was ok. I usually take advil liquid gels and i feel great, but that would just be a bandaid to potentially a bigger problem. how old are you? what physical condition are you in? what is your height, weight, bmi, etc...?
  3. yes, better then average. his flexibility and height = super distance. his height alone gives him extra yards, just like the big easy ernie els. ernie is tall and has a smooth swing and it goes far pretty effortlessly. Let that be a short person, it would be 50 yards less with the same swing.
  4. That is a lot of speed, what are you trying to do with that speed? Are you trying to join a long drive contest? What you need to focus on is consistency and not swing speed. I have gotten beat by senior citizen scratch players because they are automatic with there shots. not long distance, but right down the center every single time. drive for show, put for dough. what kind of golf do you play? do you play completions, tournaments, or just for fun? If you are playing for fun, grip it and rip it. if you are trying to win trophies, money, club championships, etc... your going to need to focus on keeping the ball in play.
  5. should i do this at home then drive to golf course? should i do this the night before i play or everyday?
  6. They use to be top of the line clubs back in the 90's with lots of people playing the 855. I don't know what happened, but they fell off big time. I bought a set of tommy armour forged blades in the early 2000's i think, and they were fantastic at a super discount. To me they were budget mizuno blades, then a year or 2 later I bought mizunos and haven't used anything else since. For that price you can't really go wrong for a whole set of irons. You are going to pay a fortune if you want to buy a brand spanking new set of super game improvement irons. I say get them because the price is cheap.
  7. should be fine, it can hit golfballs over 100mph. best way to check is to play with it and see if it goes long, short, or falls apart when you hit the ball.
  8. your probably going to want to slow your swing speed down if you can't hit straight. distance is no good if you're out of bounds or playing from the wrong fairway.
  9. i play mizen blades as well, and I absolutely hate the M2 irons. this is just my opinion. I would recommend you sell those and upgrade to a new set of mizuno blades because nothing "FEELS" better then a grain flow forged mizuno irons aka samurai swords. If you aren't going to play on a regular basis, stick with the M2 irons. To me anything other then a traditional looking players club looks disgusting. hate the top line, offset, etc... I call them shovels. Just my opinion, so you have a free set of clubs. you can play with them or sell them and pay less for a better set of irons. good luck
  10. blades are the best way to learn if you really want to get good. You will play absolutely horrible at first, but you will learn so much from the feedback from stinging hands what not to do anymore. In the long run it is the best way to learn. If you want to get good really fast I recommend a (SGI) super game improvement club. This is a bandaid because you won't get the proper feedback for proper ball striking. the SGI will make horrible shots not so bad. unfortunately you won't get the feedback like you would a blade and you have a huge sweet spot to hit from. if you are just going to play once in a while, get SGI clubs. All the stuff now is a lot easier to hit in comparison to the technology 10 years ago.
  11. Shot a 42 for 9 holes on the back 9. I couldn't stay in the fairway off my tee shots, no confidence in my driver. Switched to 3 wood off the tee and was averaging 260 yards. Didn't get on any par 3's in 1. Just a horrible day scrambling, mainly playing from the right side on the other holes fairway. I felt like I hit every tree on the course. Birdied the last hole, but way to late now that I was getting in the groove. Wish I started earlier. Now I put my clubs away and wait till next Saturday to play like trash again. I pick up my clubs saturday morning and put them away Saturday afternoon. I play 1 day a week, and it really shows because nothing feels automatic. Every time I hit, I just wish for it not to have a super duper slice/hook. No confidence in my game at all.
  12. Just finished a round today and I hit a bad slice into an area that had huge mounds of dirt that was dumped there by a construction truck. It isn't part of the landscape and was just mounds of dirt dumped there. Do I get relieve without a stroke? It is in a spot where golf shouldn't be. It use to be a part where it had a green on the next hole, but they shortened the hole so now this area is just all messed up and tore up. big huge mountains of dirt.
  13. yes, and also with other tour balls out there. spin is relative, if it has spin, it has spin going backwards and sideways. the sideways of the driver is what kills me the most. I use the driver up to 14 times a round, and I might have 1 or 2 bad drives for the round and it would exaggerate a hook or slice into out of bounds or a fairway or 2 over on the wrong holes. Most of the time it will stay in my current hole. The bad part is that the super slice and hook is on my mind and I get scared to really swing through it because of the result I am anticipating that might or might not happen. So I tend to just use a mid range ball with less spin of a tour ball, or get a tour ball that has less spin. I find greater success when I use a mid range ball or one of the better cheap balls out there. I already can put backspin or check up range balls that have no spin, so a top shelf cheap ball is the way i go. I usually start my round with a new cheap or midrange ball until i get warmed up and feel confident of my swing. Im scared to lose a good ball right away, lol. Then I start playing good, so my superstitious side of me sticks with the cheap ball for the rest of the round, because when i switched to a tour ball a few holes later, I put it out of bounds or something and finish with a bad score. So I would stick with the cheap ball and pretty much have tons of birdie opportunities, but since I'm not a pro, I miss a lot of putts. I have my margin of error less with cheap balls then the premium balls and I tend to have a better chance to score well with the cheap ball. I guess it really boils down to if i am playing a big tournament or just a competition. Also if i hit the range the day before or practiced during the week. Most of the time I just play the weekends and when its just a weekly competition I don't even practice. When it comes to the tournaments i like to get a round in on wednesday and hit the range on friday and be ready for tournament early saturday morning. You never know what the day will bring, so if I'm clicking on all cylinders and feel confident i use the premium balls, until it goes south and lose confidence, then i switch to cheap ball. i am embarrassed to use a cheap ball because everyone expects me to use a premium ball, but I use whatever ball i do well with for that day.
  14. i had a ping hoofer 4 way and it still gets stuck in that. any carry bag is going to get stuck because the focus is to make it small and light for carrying. 14 way would get stuck more since you only have a little hole to pull it out of. 4 way is more spacious and can get better angles when wiggling your clubs out. if you ride "MOST" of the time, you should be in the market for a cart bag and not a stand bag. I only used stand bags in high school because we had to walk in competitions with no buggies. If you are riding most of the time you will be a lot happier with a cart bag, lots of room, more origination, and tons of pockets.
  15. :( looks like i have to buy from usa and have them bring it to me next year when they visit. :( but i want to play with them right now.
  16. where do i buy them? any discounts?
  17. I've seen this in the hx hot. I have a fast swing speed and used this ball for long drive competitions in scrambles and tournaments. I didn't feel i was hitting it further, just about average 300+. but when i hit it off a long or mid iron, I would overshoot the green. i thought i just hit it really good and dead centre in the sweet spot, but it happened everytime. I hit it an easy 20-30 yards further.
  18. that's great, use what works for you. another good ball is the wilson fg tour. I haven't tried them myself, but I know people that have and they love it. ProV1 is kinda the standard for the premium balls, but if you can get a premium ball for cheaper and you like it, definitely stock up and get it.
  19. I just trade with fellow golfers, ball for ball. give that a go if you see something you like. they pull out a sleeve and let them have something of yours that interest them. I haven't found any online, but a lot of the golf course do sell sleeves of golf balls. Also check out golf stores as they have some single balls to purchase. That is what I did and the balls were perfect, just had destroyed packaging.
  20. never heard of them, but if its cheaper, its worth a try. that would be great if you like them because you are getting a great price on similar performance as the more marketed brands.
  21. are you carrying your bag or putting in a buggy/cart? if you are carrying the stand bag binds the clubs together when you use the stands and tilt it forward. if you want less binding, grab your club 1st then tilt it forward to stand on its own. nothing wrong with 14 way, just user error.
  22. thats a great deal, motorised buggies are expensive. a good push buggy isn't even that cheap.
  23. if you like q star, you should try callaway supersoft and bridgestone e6. q star is a good ball, but it do anything great for me, it was just a mediocre ball. I was able to get callaway supersoft on sale so i gave it a go. I like it better then the q star and its cheaper. if you are playing on hard/dry greens, i would switch to a premium ball so it can hold the green a little better, but if the greens are soft or medium I would go with a midrange ball. I am able to go after it a little more with the supersoft because it doesn't have as much spin as the q star, so hooks/slices aren't as bad if it does happen. For me its the difference of being in the rough or being out of bounds.
  24. which snell ball? whats the difference between chromesoft and supersoft
