I will try to record tomorrow at full speed. I believe these were all taken with slo mo on my iPhone so it would make sense they are low fps. It's crazy that you point this out, because it feels like I am swinging out to the right...feel isn't real!! I will head to the range tomorrow or Thursday if I get time and re-record DTL and see if I can get a better angle and better frame rate. Thanks Fellas!

Here is my face on swings at the range today.

Not sure if it is heroic or not, but one of the better shots I can think of besides chip-ins from greenside and such. I was playing my practice round before a Pro-Am for one of the mini tours in North Dakota. It was the 2nd hole, dogleg right par 5. Its really not a driver off the tee hole, as you need about 240 yards to the bend, and then its about 260 or so in from there. It was only the 2nd hole, so I thought I would try to make a score on this hole so I tried a cut driver and you guessed it, the damn thing went straight which is a lateral hazard. Dropped my ball out of the hazard, hit a 200 or so yard shot to leave me a nice 60* wedge about 60 yards out. I hit the wedge, it checked up and rolled into the cup for birdie...for having to take a penalty and ending up with birdie, I will take it!

I've been Playing Golf for: 15 years (more seriously for about 6 now) My current handicap index or average score is: 1.4 My typical ball flight is: high draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push/pull Videos: I didn't get any head on video yet, plan on doing that in the next couple days. This is from about a month ago. Been working on some things on the range, and this is where I am at currently. Not sure why they didn't upload in slow motion, as they were recorded in slow motion. I will see if I can figure that out too and get the slo-mo ones posted. Working on getting more through the ball, keeping my head still and rotating around my spine and following through completely...sometimes I get lazy and instead of following through all the way, I stop which hangs the ball out to the right a bit. Its a work in progress, this is my second season with a draw swing as I have worked hard with the local PGA Professional to get to where I am at. Was able to get down to a 3.5 index with a fade swing and couldn't seem to shave any more strokes off, but I feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel and hope to be scratch by the end of this season.

Here is the back 9. As you can see, the front 9 is more of a traditional 9, and the back 9 here is links style. We had a flood in '97 (google "flood of 1997 Grand Forks, ND, it was bad) which took out the original golf course. They put in a dike through the front 9 which wiped out 9 holes so they had to create the back 9. Had a good back 9 even with the wind out there. Had one of my better rounds of the year for the back as well with a bogey free -1. Wind was fun to deal with as it was out of the west, but would gust from the N too. Again, sorry for the video skills/lack there of, but then next one will be better!
-
Let's see if this works better than my video skills. It was a windy day out there (20mph steady gusting to 30mph), and about 60 degrees but I had a good round. This is the front 9 of my home course (will post the back 9 in a bit). Had one of my better rounds of the year so far that day, rambled off 3 birdies in a row on 5, 6, & 7, but bogeyed 3 and 9 to finish -1 on the front. Swing didn't feel like it was completely there, might have been because of the jacket, but it just felt different. Sorry for the times when I am barely in the frame, or the ball isn't in the frame, I think some of that got compressed out of the video, I will have to get a tripod to use for the next one now that I know.

Were these swings your typical ball flight? Because to me it looked like the ball went immediately to the left, which would indicate a fade, or it was pulled...if you hit a high right to left ball, the ball should start out to the right and come back to the left, but this picture shows otherwise.- 163 replies

At my home course, we got the privilege of having the old asst. Superintendent from Trump National Westchester in NY work at our course for a couple years. His wife is in the medical field so basically she wanted to move back here to be closer to her family, and he ended up coming to be the super at our course...which just this past fall she got a job out east again she could pass up so he is gone now...anywho...He told us stories of Trump coming to play at the course. He said he was genuinely a nice guy and gave praise to the staff for their upkeep of the course. When he played though, they (and his security) were to make sure there was nobody 4 holes ahead, and 4 holes behind him...He did say he would drive right up next to the tee boxes and the greens, but never drove on them. He does have a great respect for the game and for his courses, so I am thinking this is more of a perception thing as @iacas said, how many times do we hit the ball onto the green and think we are 5 feet away, only to be 25 feet away.

I don't think anyone called you a "flippy hack" unless I missed something somewhere. You are on a golf forum, saying you "created a way to build a golf swing"...how did you not figure you would get much feedback...especially when you haven't posted any DTL videos or anything so we can see ball flight compared to setup position? It just sounds like you are making contact with the ball and not blading it...that's it as far as what I can hear.. Nope, I have said before, if it works for you, by all means use it...but you are not the guy that is going take me to school...not in the least bit.. This forum is a genuinely positive forum...when you come on here and make these claims, but don't provide us with what we are asking for...Trackman data, DTL video, vlog of 9 holes played, etc...people wont take you seriously.- 163 replies

You have 10 or so videos out there "explaining your approach"...It would be nice to see some DTL shots, most of the time, if the camera is decent, you can see the ball take off...what about doing a vLog of 9 holes or something the next time you go out and play?- 163 replies

If they were that slow, and there were holes open ahead of them as you stated, why didn't you just jump ahead of them a hole and keep playing, and then come back to the hole you missed when you are done? IF they were AJGA players, they are playing a tournament...so I would not have expected them to let me play through. No way I would have stayed behind them knowing they are playing a tournament and there were holes open ahead of them.

I have seen/heard that there was some words exchanged on the 17th tee at Sawgrass 2nd round this year and it ending with Phil saying something to the extent of "That's not what I need from you right now"...I haven't heard the actual dialog, but its all over twitter that it was pretty heated. Bones wanted Phil to hit a 9 iron, and Phil wanted a PW, which he ultimately hit, and it one hopped off the back of the green and into the water...And then when Phil sent Bones 60 yards up the fairway to tend the pin for him...Tim Rosaforte (take it for what its worth) said he could see Bones taking over Greller(sp?) on Speith's bag since when a player is struggling usually the first to go is the swing coach or caddie...I don't see them splitting, but I also didn't see Phil and Bones splitting either.

We see videos of you talking, and the first one of you swinging face on, but what about some down the line video so we can see the flight of the ball??? I agree with @Ernest Jones that a vLog of 9 holes, is something I think all of us would like to see. Like I have said in previous posts, if it works for you, by all means stick with it, but when you start saying you have something that everyone should be doing, you have a name for this clock system, etc...video evidence would go a long way!- 163 replies

This picture looks like I could give your left shoulder a nudge and you would fall backward. It almost looks like a lot of your weight is in your heels, although that might not be the case, maybe on your left foot though. How do you know if your attack angle or face path are good if you haven't got the data on it? It seems to me that your body is late getting through the ball based on this picture as well...the picture and your lower body are at where I would think a person would want to be at impact, not half follow through.- 163 replies

I agree with David, the backswing looks more like a 3/4 shot, or a flighted shot, and the weight transfer doesn't seem right to me. Just doesn't look like a very powerful swing overall. If it works for you that is great though! I, myself, wouldn't be particularly happy with a 205 4i...I know that if I want to hit a draw, I need to swing out to the right a little, if I want to hit a cut, I need to swing to the left a little. Again, if it works for you that is great, but just doesn't seem powerful.- 163 replies

This is hole 17 at my home course. I think I have birdied it a handful of times, but mostly bogeys. The prevailing wind comes from the North (top of the picture and blows back towards the tee. Its about a 240 yard carry over the water just inside the top right corner of the water, but with the wind blowing back at the tee, it plays tough. Even if you play out to the right, its about a 190 yard approach. Its really fun when the tuck the pin back left too!!!

Irons more forgiving without higher launch/more distance?
Grinde6 replied to Midpack's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I think if you pick up a new set of irons, you will be happy. The irons I just picked up are the Mizuno JPX 850 Forged. The lofts on these clubs compared to my Nike Vr Pro Blades are 2-3 degrees less with the Mizunos. I hit the ball much higher with these clubs though compared to the Nikes, mostly due to the shaft. I am hitting them much farther, and trust me, its a good problem to have to hit a 9 iron where you used to hit a soft 7. These are the best irons I think I have ever owned, and I, like you, was hesitant to make the switch, especially with the loft changes, but I am very glad I did now. I say go for it!! -
I am glad the story has taken a turn for the better. I can see this happening to anyone taking pain killers and having a reaction, it could happen at any time to anyone. I am also glad he was pulled over to the side of the road, so it seems like he knew what was happening and wanted to get off the road. To me, reading the report, this is pretty much a non-issue now, and like iacas pointed out, he was on a golf trip, so he is way ahead of schedule!!!! haha!

How much further, driver vs 3-wood?
Grinde6 replied to deekay's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would say that on average you would see 20-30 yards or so. If you are going to do it, I would go to a place where you can hit with a launch monitor and see what type of yardages you are getting, maybe bring your 3 wood in as well so you know how far you are hitting that on the monitor as it is likely to be different than on the course. That way you can see if it is worth the $ for the added yardage you are getting. -
My wedge gaps go: PW - 145 GW - 135 SW - 120 LW - 110 I just take 1/2 - 3/4 swings if I need to hit a yardage in one of those gaps. My loft gaps aren't all the same as I have anywhere from 4-6 degrees of loft between these clubs, but I know I can hit a PW 100 yards if I change my backswing with it. I think that would be something to work on for you, get the most out of each club, but then work on the 1/2-3/4 swings to fill in the gaps.

We always play ready golf, and the only exception to that, like others have mentioned, is birdie honors off the tee. If nobody birdied, the tee box is wide open. The only times I don't play ready golf is during tournament rounds because it seems everyone wants to play in turn, and it is expected that it is going to be a longer than normal round, so we play the furthest away game. The other time is during match play. Other than those 2 exceptions it is always ready golf.

Good Cheap golf balls
Grinde6 replied to Bucki1968's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
You cannot go wrong with the Vice Pro Plus ball. I ordered 5 dozen with my business logo on them for about 30 bucks a dozen, I did have to order 5 dozen to get that pricing, but that is a heck of a deal for a ball that I truly believe outperforms Pro V1x and the Nike RZN Black balls I was playing. Distance wise the Pro + might be a little longer, but around the greens is where they shine, nice one hop stop from virtually any lie with these balls I have noticed so far. I believe they are $25 a dozen if you buy 5 dozen, and I had mine in 3 business days. -
I don't think in that moment, or even now a couple days later Kim or Day...or anyone for that matter is thinking "he/I should have been more respectful and dressed up"...besides you maybe. His round was over quite some time before Kims was, he was probably sweaty so he changed and put this on. I don't think many people have an issue with this..
