Grip Installation Gurus - Need Help…
308 Ragin Cajun replied to inthehole's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
One of the keys is making sure you have plenty of solvent on the end of the club to help the grip slip on easier. I use charcoal lighter fluid because it doesn't evaporate as fas, and the tape stays slippery longer. also once you star pushing the grip on the club, don't stop. keep pushing! -
Plastic or Wood Tees? Something Else?
308 Ragin Cajun replied to PutterHead's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I prefer plain old white wood tees. 2/3/4" for driver, 2 1/4 for everything else.. White,. because they're easier to find in the grass. In my experience plastic tees suffer from erectile dysfunction in the hot summer and with hard ground. -
I use the Lamkin Crossline Black, and regrip my self. it's about the same as tour velvet, and i can get them almost $2.00 per grip cheaper. I prefer that all my grips are the same throughout the set, except putter, of course. In the past,. i've used a mish mash of different grips. As i get older, i find that i get more anal about things like grips.

Yeah, they better watch out for me in next year's club championship!~ I'm after their asses now.

Played today and shot 88, counting all my strokes.! After approximately 1 year of practice and playing after a 10 year layoffs, i'm finally starting to see progress. The key was simply keeping the ball in play, avoiding double bogeys, trying to make smooth wings and not trying to kill the ball. Only made 1 double after a ball OB, Now need to work more on my short game. if i hd been able to get the ball up and down, and putted better, could have shot 84-85,. but that;'s golf. I've never played a round where i didn't leave at least a couple of strokes on the course.

Go to golf Works.com > Services > Clubmaking help & info > OEM Shaft Replacement Guide. It will give you the the OEM shaft for all the major manufacturers clubs. If an iron shaft shows .370 its a straight shaft; If it's .355, it's a tpe shaft

I cut my 915 D2 down to 44.5 from 45". Even with only .5" cut off, I noticed better control. I only had to change the head weith 3 gams heavier to get the swing weight back up to D3. I have noticed no loss of distance.

Better known as the shank, or "The dreaded snap slice"😀

If one was unfamiliar with the PGA Tour, and was watching Morning Drive on the GC this morning, one would thin that Tiger Woods was the only player participating in the Players Championship this week.

New (To Me) Irons
308 Ragin Cajun replied to 308 Ragin Cajun's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
How much change in swing weight can i expect if Itake out the S300 shafts (127 gr), nd replace them with TT lite (113 gr)? -
Gimme a break. It's 5 AM. I haven't had enough coffee yet.

1. I agree with you 100% 2. Augusta National, I believe, has already allowed a woman member. See Dr. Condoleeza Rice. 3. No one is " entitled" to be a PGA Tour Pro, simply because he finished high in a US Open, and played on the same college golf team with Tiger Woods. The PGA Tour is a private association whose members have earned their admission through their paying skills, and have agreed to abide by the rules. It is not open to the public. Oops ! sorry. Old post..

Used to carry a brush, now use a wet towel. I do use a rangefinder on pitches. I hit all my irons hard since i can't seem to reach the green with any of them. I have never owned a white belt.

It's about the same in South Louisiana, mostly mud, wind and wet fairways. We also can generally play year 'round. Just starting to come out of he damp, and the fairways are starting to firm up. Lots of rain forecast for next week, though..

Skinny divots, just scraping the grass of the dirt,. a little deeper starting with the 8 iron to the wedge, when I'm swinging well...

Chi Chi Rodriguez was the nicest pro I've ever met.. We attended the tournament at New Orleans for the 3rd & 4th rounds in about 1984. My then wife and my son Sean, then about 5. We arrived in New Orleans to find the 3rd round rained out, and went to our hotel the check in. Chi Chi and his small entourage were sitting in the lobby waiting to go to a movie. We went over to get Chi Chi's autograph for Sean. Chi Chi talked to Sean, asked him his name, and Signed his autograph book " To my pal Sean- Chi Chi Rodriguez. The next day we spent chasing Sean around the golf course, and since we had tickets to the hospitality room, we decided to go back there and get Sean some more autographs. We ran into a guy from our home town with a camera and told him about Chi Chi,. and he said Chi Chi just finished and should be come ing into the hospitality room shortly. may be we can get a picture. Sure enough, chi Chi shows up, and my friend asked him about a picture. Chi Chi looked down and said" My buddy Sean!". ,and picked him up and took the picture. I was amazed that after 24 hours, and probably signing hundreds of autographs, he recognized and remembered Sean's name.

Back in the old days of persimmon and blades, I favored MacGregor persimmon woods and forged blades. I could actually hit them back then, too. Today, my only real bias in Titleist drivers, and Vokey wedges. My iron preference is forged cavity backs. I would play any set that looks and feels good.

Snow and cold are not the problem down here. Rain has been the problem. Below are the results of 2 raight days of rain. Not heavy downpours, just 2 days of steady rain lasting all day. It will take at least a week of sunshine and wind to dry out my course into playable condition.

Plain old spit, OK. Tobacco juice, NO. I have nothing against tobacco per se,. I am a smoker, and try to be careful where I dispose of my butts. I just have always found spiting tobacco juice disgusting.

I've tried plastic tees, but haven't found any that do't bend and droop in the heat of summer. I'll stick with Plain old wood. I don't break that many tees with my driver.
