  1. Bridgestone's B330-RXS is soft and spins well.
  2. Still not in the same league as Eamonn Darcy!
  3. A classic example being these three: Ping i20 "Not: A driver designed for better players should have adjustable features." Callaway RAZR Fit "Not: A version made for tour players has even more adjustable options. Why not offer this to the rest of us?" Taylormade R11S "Not: With 80 options, more players might give up well before they find the proper setting."
  4. No idea about Adams (never seen them in the UK), but the Titleist website explains how the SureFit hosel system works to alter lie angle. I belie Ping bend their hybrids to get the required lie angle.
  5. The Ping K15 / G20 series of hybrids can be altered for lie angle, along with the Titleist 910h range.
  6. You could always put some tape over the number "7" on your iron and write an "8" instead!
  7. Not my worst ever, but an amusing contrast to your round. I shot a 108 last year with only 26 putts!
  8. I guess it would be a bad idea to start talking about Nike sweat-shops as well...
  9. But the most pros hit their fairway metals a whole lot further than the average club player anyway...
  10. If swing-speed is largely irrelevant, then why do Bridgestone / Srixon make initial recommendations based on that factor?
  11. Titleist would have us believe that swing-speed is not really a big factor when it comes to ball selection: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/46427/facts-about-golf-ball-performance-and-golf-ball-fitting
  12. To use an often repeated cliche... it's the Indian not the arrow. I recently made my way through a dozen e6's and while they seemed longer than other balls I've played, they certainly didn't "correct" any directional issues I was having. Ironically, my straightest tee-shot of the year came from a TM Penta.
  13. I focus my eye on a spot several inches in front of the ball when chipping. This usually produces solid contact. If I focus on the top / back of the ball, I tend to impact the ground before the ball.
  14. Regarding Luke Donald, an average driving distance of 275 yards isn't bad really, especially when his accuracy and consistency are taken into account. I know that lessons and club-fitting are always recommended, but last year I spent £25.00 to be fitted to a 10* Diablo Edge (£190.00) despite having a swing-speed of approx. 80mph. So I find myself hitting a 17* 4*wood (now obsolete so cost only £80.00) both straighter and significantly further than a driver. I've also thrown money at lessons to simply be told that I need to "release the club-head / roll my hands over" to prevent a straight-fade... and that a draw will travel further because it's struck with top-spin! Best money I've spent on Golf merchandise was the Stack & Tilt book by Bennett & Plummer. I've found the section on diagnosing faults to be more valuable than any lesson that I've paid for.
  15. This is the best I could find (click the Workability Perfected section) - http://www.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikegolf/en_EU/products/details?sku=GD1381
  16. I'm in a similar situation. Not sure what my distance is from the tee, but it's not likely to be more than 200 yards. So while the short-game is important, I find that I rely on god wedge play to save bogey ! Becoming good at hitting long approach shots will probably be a valuable tool in the bag if you aren't bombing your tee-shots.
  17. 99... with 29 putts!
  18. I have the SQ Dymo 2 . Superb club from the rough.
  19. I'll play 9... I'll even play 7 if short on time. Far more enjoyable than duffing one shot after another on a green mat.
  20. A Callway X-Hot might be ideal - http://thesandtrap.com/b/clubs/callaway_x_hot_fairway_wood_review
  21. Driver, 4-iron, 5-iron, Gap Wedge and Lob Wedge.
  22. Because when Camilo bombs 200+ yard shots with a 5-iron, it surely benefits TaylorMade's marketing strategy.
  23. This looks like a question straight out of GCSE Maths. It would be easier to calculate the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow.
  24. I think Angel Cabrera won the Masters with a Ping Rapture (driver) in the bag... which was regarded as the SGI model in Ping's line-up.
  25. "better players(and pros)"? I spin my club after every miss-hit!
