  1. last years ping 4 under box of q stars
  2. when i had my regular cab tacoma i just kept threw them in the bed and never gave a second thought to them flying out or getting damaged in any way. my concern was somebody stealing them when i had to stop by the grocery store on the way home from the course. i would also pull them out of the bed and lock them in the cab when i went in anywhere. it was a pain.
  3. Was just thinking that I should get myself a packable rain suit. What are some good jacket/pant combos that don't break the bank. I'd love to have a footjoy set but I don't think I can bring myself to drop $200 or more. Thanks.
  4. I don't use any kind of marking or anything. I just extend my pinky finger out as I tee my ball up and when the first digit bends back and stops I'm at the right height.
  5. i carry a taylormade r9 17* 4 wood as my only fairway wood. i used to carry a 3 wood and 5 wood but never really found myself needing to differentiate between the two so i just simplified and split the difference. it's not very realistic for me to worry about specific yardages since i'm not planning on hitting fairway woods accurate enough to put it on the green. i tee off with it if my driver isn't cooperating or on short par 4's and use it for second shots on long par 5's. i've cut down to 12 clubs so my setup goes 10.5* driver, 17* 4 wood, 22* hybrid then 5 iron and down. works pretty well for me.
  6. I'm 30 and in good shape and I proudly use a push cart. I haven't run into any haters at the places but my younger friends all still want to carry their old high school bags it seems. I've yet to convert anyone. Another of my favorite advantages for using a push cart is that I find it makes playing in the rain much, much more pleasant. My clicgear holds the umbrella for me and I can stay under it at all times until I'm ready to make my shot.
  7. a friend of mine still uses an old mizuno driving iron. there are an abundance of short par 4's on the courses around here so something like that comes in handy.
  8. i'm 29 and started using a clicgear pushcart this year. i couldn't care less if someone thinks it's silly for someone my age to use one.
  9. i agree that those are great clubs but if the OP is looking for more forgiveness a bobby jones hybrid is probably a step in the wrong direction.
  10. there's no rule that says you have to play hybrids. if you hit your fairway woods better then go with that. i hit my 5 wood a lot better than i can hit a 3 hybrid that is similar in loft. maybe a 7 wood a 4 iron would be a better choice.
  11. if it were me i would need something between their "gap" wedge and a SW. That gap wedge is essentially a mislabeled pitching wedge.
  12. i thought 46" was ridiculous until I used one for a few rounds. now i don't even think about it. that being said... no thanks. i'm beginning to wonder about cobra's direction under puma ownership.
  13. I bought a Ping IWI Anser sight unseen from ebay last week and I've noticed that when I hold it in my natural putting stance the face looks slightly closed. It had been re-gripped. Does this just seem like an issue with the grip being put on slightly out of alignment? Hopefully that's the case but it seems like the last few Ping putters I've picked up off the shelf have had a similar issue. Is there any method I can use to assure that the grip is perfectly aligned when I replace it? Thanks.
  14. I've got a set of Ping M/B wedges in 52* and 58* lofts. Grips are nice midsize Golf Pride multicompounds in red. Heads and shafts are in very good condition. Lots of life left in them. Heads are missing the rubber inserts but it never bothered me. $70 shipped and paypal'd in the lower 48.
  15. unless it's snowing or below freezing i'll play.
  16. i had some issues with my ogio vaporlite after only 1 season of use. the area where the handle attaches started coming apart, the zipper on the ball compartment broke and the legs wouldn't pop all the way out. i liked the bag but next time i'm in need of a stand bag i'll look to another manufacturer
  17. my ping bag has 4 dividers driver, 3W, 5W 3 hybrid, 4, 5, 6 7, 8, 9, PW 52, 58, Putter i try to throw everything back in it's slot after the shot but occasionally they'll need a little mid-round sorting
  18. Bobby Jones 19* hybrid, stiff shaft w/ knit headcover. Crown is a bit dull w/ some light scratches but no serious chips or dings. $40 shipped and paypal'd in the lower 48.
  19. i recently switched from the footjoy weather-sof to the stay-sof gloves and i don't think i could go back now.
  20. what's the concept behind these? you adjust your ball marker to your line and then place your ball with the stripe aligned as well?
  21. i'd also have to say ping or titleist. they both make good stuff from putter to driver.
  22. my tees rarely stay in the ground when i hit driver but i try and pick them up. when hitting fairway wood or irons off the tee box i look for broken tees to reuse.
  23. my home course has some super thick rough and the bobby jones hybrids slice through that stuff like no other club i've tried.
  24. if you can't hold onto your clubs then you definitely need to regrip them. i would suggest the multicompound grips that are 1/2 corded.
