i would like to buy a pair of casual golf shoes like those made by Ecco, Footjoy, Ashworth, Nike, Adidas, etc.

Can anyone give me some recommendations on a casual spikeless golf shoe which offers very good comfort, very good stability, and very good traction?

Just bought the Ecco Biom Hybrids and they are very comfortable.  Haven't taken them on the course yet, but I don't think traction will be an issue.  My home course isn't very hilly so it won't be a great test anyway.  Also might try out the True Stealths if the Ecco's work out well on the course.

The Nike Lunar Ascend shoes http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12614248&cp;=4406646.4413987.4417989 are very comfortable and provide good traction. I had to go a half size larger than my other shoes (FootJoys). The only negative is the fact that they are not waterproof.

Here in Florida, I have to have waterproof golf shoes with all the water they have around many of the courses. When we get a heavy rain, a lot of the rough areas get kind of muddy.

I believe the Nike Lunar Prevail are the waterproof version of the Ascends.  Same sole as the Ascend but 2 year limited waterproof warranty.

I have a pair of 2011 True Tours that I love. By far the most comfortable golf shoe I've worn. Your closer to the ground and a bit more on your heels than in traditional shoes/golf shoes, which took some getting used to. But after a couple holes, they felt great. I felt that the grip was pretty good, I only slipped once or twice, and that was while walking down a somewhat steep, damp hill. Not once have I slipped while swinging with them, even in damp conditions.

I actually just ordered a second pair that should be here Wednesday.

I've got a pair of the ECCO, Oakley Ripcord and FootJoy Contour Casual.  All of them are great can't really put one ahead of the other, I swear by the spikeless shoes in general, but these 3 were the most comfortable of the ones I tried.  The ECCO were the most expensive, the Oakley the least expensive and have a 2 year warranty.

Anyone have comments on the Footjoy Contour Casual golf shoe?  I am leaning towards it, but would appreciate additional comments on that shoe by those who have worn it.

I recently bought the Ashworths.

Very comfortable shoes...And I tend to have "issues" with finding comfort in footwear.

Grip seems good, but my plan is to only use them on nice(r) days with traditional golf shoes on not-so-nice days.

How do you like these kicks?  I'm in the market to buy another pair of black golf shoes and have been looking at these.

I have some FootJoys MyJoys from a few years back and they feel great. Only really use them for putting around or going out though.

I like them alot, they are more comfortable than the Street Premieres and are waterproof.  I don't recommend them in rain or on muddy courses but on a nice day they are my first choice out of all my golf shoes.

    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
