What kind of bag do you guys have? I just bought a complete new set of clubs and am looking for a new bag too. Me personally, I like cart bags. I've never been into the stand bags. I mostly ride, but if I walk I have a pull cart that I put my bag on.

I looked at some bags today. I liked the Callaway X series bags for a couple of reasons. One, I just bought a bunch of Callaway clubs so it matches, and two I liked the storage on that bag. What I didn't like was that it had 10 divisions in the bag. I was wanting a 14 division bag so that every club had it's own spot.

So what do you guys have and/or look for in a bag?

Check out the Ping Discovery. Just got mine today, after wanting one for some time, and love it. The external putter well is going to be real nice.

I had an ugly cart bag and I have been wanting to go with a light weight stand bag. I hit Adams Irons and wear the Adams Visor, so I started looking at Adams Bags first. I went with the Adams Hana Stand Bag in Black/White/Gold and it is awesome.

i have used a cart bag with individual dividers for years but today i went into TJ Maxx and they had an ogio ozone stand bag for $50 so i grabbed it fast. it is a stand bag with the dual shoulder straps. it is a whole lot lighter and the straps will be great for walking (i walk during the week and ride during the weekend).

I have the 2007 Sun Mountain C-130 Cart Bag. I liked the look of it, the huge array of compartments, the external putter well, external umbrella sleeve, plastic lined cooler pocket with drain, the 14 full length dividers, etc. A really nice full featured bag.

I use it about 80% of the time on a pull cart, and 20% on a power cart.

The only cons of this bag and the sheer size and weight. If you have much of anything in the side pockets, it can take up more than its share of space on a power cart... It would be hard to put two of these suckers side by side I think. It barely fits in my trunk. It also is pretty darn heavy and a bit akward when you have to carry it (such as going to the range, especially when the main level is full and you have to take it upstairs!). It does have an extra wide padded shoulder strap, but the balance isn't quite right on it, and it tends to want to slip off your shoulder while walking.

I have the Titleist S74 staff bag and love it. Its pretty much water proof, which is a good thing since it rains almost everyday here in south Louisiana.

I used to have a large TM staff bag becuase of the ease of removing and placing my clubs in the large top opening but I found it too cumbersome and it didn't fit properly on the cart. I have since switched to a TM Monaco bag with 14 slots for my clubs. It fits on the cart much better and is much lighter in weight yet it offers enough pockets for everything. It's sort of a mini staff bag. I really like the ease of removing and replacing clubs in 14 slot bags. You can see each number of the club much easier.

I have a Great Divider Mesa Bag (Navy Blue) cart bag with the Elevated Base System. I like it, however, I always have problems with the longer clubs getting stuck towards the bottom or not wanting to go down. It has full length dividers but I just think they rub against each other and prevent the driver (which is the primary culprit) from going all the way down every time.

I also have a University of Michigan stand bag, but it is falling apart. I have the two dividers connected at the top with zip ties. I would like to walk more and get a nice stand bag. I really like some of the Titleist bags they sell in Japan. I only wish you could get them over here. I don't think I can justify speding $300 on a stand bag. Anyone have any ideas how to get those models cheaper?

I wound up going for the Callaway X series bag. I looked at a lot of them over the past couple of days, some of them suggested or used in the above posts. In the end I just really liked that bag and it even matched my clubs.

Thanks for the inputs everyone.

i have an ogio grom stand bag and its awesome, no complaints. I live the walk my courses and the bag has never given me any "headaches". although, i've seen ogio's new bag system, the "schling", its awesome. only a few new models have that carry system, but if you get a chance to try one out, its really comfortable and convenient.

I have one of the cheap "Golfmate" cart bags from academy. Only had it about a year, but its holding up very well. I'm thinking about switching to a stand bag soon though. I go to the range more than courses and I'm kinda tired of that chill sent up my spine everytime i hear my bag crash to the ground because there are no stands at the range by my house.
I'm only at 13 clubs in the bag, what do you reccomend as a 14th? My foot wedge?

I've also got the Ogio Grom bag. For the most part I like it a lot. It has the spring loaded ball pocket that keeps you from having to unzip to get a ball. It also has an external cage that holds three balls for easy access. It's light and the straps are well padded. It also has the Woode system that keeps the woods along the left side instead of putting them all on top. The putter slot is nice as well. It's always easily accesable.

I do have a couple issues however. The spring loaded pocket is great when you only keep a dozen or so balls in there. I have been finding way more that I lose lately and I have not cleaned it out in a while so it is not closing as easily due to the added weight/volume. If it were a zipper, I would have no problem with the number of balls it has in it now. The valuables pocket is water proof and nicely lined but it is very tight and hard to get my hands in. Finally the biggest gripe is the umbrella holder. It has a drawstring at the top to hold it tight and the sleeve rus about 2/3 of the way down the side. Those things are fine. The problem is the little loop at the botom where the top of the umbrella goes. It is located where the umbrella tip hits the ground when you put the bag down. At least once per round it will come out of the loop and dangle down in the way.

Overall I would rate it about a 7.5 out of 10. I like the majority of the features, but there are little glitches that bug me.

I looked at the bags with the Schling last year and they were $200+. It did not seem to fit me right so I passed. They have since redone the design and put it on some less expensive bags. I tend to play 2 years with a bag so we will see after next season.
