It's not one of the 5 Simple Keys®, thus, it's a preference.

It can help students with Key #3. Though you showed two pictures of players hitting driver. It's more common to have the handle forward slightly with irons due to the ball position. In fact, generally speaking, a player's hands tend to go in about the same spot for every club, but as ball position varies, shaft lean at address will vary as the ball moves relative to the body and hands.

For example… put Tiger's ball position forward and his hands won't appear so far forward, either. Your pictures better illustrate a difference in ball position.

Yep.

And camera angle is also important. Can't really compare with the two pics in the OP, one is too far behind the golfer and the other is too far in front.

For my own game I like to have some lean, just "feels" better and I like the way it sets the face.

I guess what I do is set my hands and wrist up in-line with my left shoulder, so the 'lean' of the club really is just the end result of cause and effect of where I place the ball (irons vs driver).  This placement helps me with key three, making the bottom of my swing arc at my left shoulder, thus swinging down on my irons shots and slightly up with my driver.  (  I should add that this is what I TRY to do anyway :) )
