Check this out with Phil trash-talking at the expense of Nasty Nick Faldo during the otherwise civilized Masters champions dinner. Scroll about two-thirds of the way down this article for details that are otherwise unprintable.

Although I don't care for Faldo as a golf analyst, I wish He had popped Phil in the ole pumpkin.

Seems like a pretty friendly joke. Are you telling me you guys don't talk this way with the your golfing companions. I know I do.

Faldo is the one who seems to have gotten a little uppity. That shouldn't really come as a surprise given what we've all heard about Faldo.

yea...I know buddies talk that way with one another but I guess with what was said about him in the article about the "exchange"; about him not having no playing buddies, and him being the FIGJAM on the tour, I guess it could be taken out of context with implications that they are not friends when in reality they very well may be and were, as you mentioned, taking friendly jabs at one another.

Anyway, I'm curious how real this is... but I don't know enough about it to make up my mind.

The article also makes it pretty clear that Tiger acts like an ass.

LOL - Tiger just has his circle of friends and doesn't need to be botheres trying to please everyone.

As to Lefty and Faldo, if I was Faldo I would have just said "Let me know when you win 3 more majors."

I didn't see anything in the article that was unflattering to Phil. In fact, the article made Phil out to be much more of a "regular guy" than I ever would have known otherwise. The trash talk between Faldo and Phil seemed like friendly banter, not hateful.

Tiger cusses out Haney after a bad round? Haney can't swing the club for him. If anything, Haney should cuss out Tiger - "Didn't I teach you how to make that chip shot?!?! Fifty feet past the hole? WTF??? What's the problem, you haven't been practicing like I told you?"

Tiger == Michael Jordan - Everyone seems to love them, but behind the scenes they are real jerks. Have a unique single-minded focus on their game. No patience for other players that they feel do not work as hard as they do. Would make a terrible coach - would expect everyone to work as hard as they did!
Phil == Kobe Bryant - Polarizing figures. Either you love them or you hate them. No in-between. Considered cocky and arrogant.

Are you serious? Can you not understand sarcasm. Phil is not an ass. He is an elite golfer that is cordial to the fans, makes an effort during interviews, and smiles on the course as if he is enjoying himself. The next time these 2 go head-to-head, listen to the post-match interview. Phil will talk about enjoying the competition with Tiger. Tiger won't acknowledge Phil and will just talk about what he did. It's always about himself.

Tiger never acknowledges the fans. His interviews suck. He never says anything of real substance. Tiger is the greatest golfer of all time. But to label Phil and ass and not Tiger? Don't understand the logic.

      Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
