It varies on the type of shot I need but more often than not I use my CG12 58*. Its bent to 57 degrees and I find it pretty versatile. If not that then I use my 52* gap wedge.

Just my pitching wedge.

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

60* degree for any greenside chipping. If I have a lot of room to work with then sometimes I'll pull a 7-iron and bump and run it. 90% of the time though, I use my 60*

56º, 13º bounce Cleveland CG12 DSG for every chip and pitch after reading The Art of The Short Game by Stan Utley. The results were imminent. I still struggle a bit with the pitches, but I hit it way better now. I played 6 holes today, had 7 putts. Only 1 GIR mind you, but I saved par on the rest with excellent chipping and pitching.

I used to use 7, 8, 9, PW, 52º, 56º and 60º. Only using one club feels much better for distance control. I can use the bump and run anywhere. Does not matter if I've only got 10cm of fringe before the green, the idea is to get it close to the flag, and I believe this method is very useful.

Next time I buy wedges I might get a 58º, 12º bounce instead.

58º SW all the way. One club. 34672389468321 shots.

I figure that the more options you have, the more ways you have to fail.

What I didn't like about using many different clubs was that I never got confident with distances. If I hit a 7-iron on the sweet spot, the ball could suddenly fly the green.

With one club you use all the time, you'll learn to know the club and can do anything you want with it.

I use 2-3 clubs. Primarily the 54* and the 60* if I need a high soft landing ball and rarely a PW. Back in the day when I was about 13 I used PW all the time. I don't think I had a SW then.

58º SW all the way. One club. 34672389468321 shots.

Why not see it as the more options you have, the more ways you have to succeed?

very true statement. i think that just convinced me to just go with one club

What I didn't like about using many different clubs was that I never got confident with distances. If I hit a 7-iron on the sweet spot, the ball could suddenly fly the green.

holy smokes, you must know me. i struggle with hitting the ball constitantly when i use multiple clubs. even if the distance is just 1 or 2 yards short/long, thats up to 6 feet extra of putting i have to do on the next shot.

so, from what everybody has said, 1 club sounds like a good option for me to try. now my question is, which club? i have a 58.12, 54.12, (both CG14s), 50*, and 46* (both of which are Tour burners). which club do you think you think would be best to start with?

Depends how you play your short game. I've picked up on Utley's way, he advice a 56 or 58º club with 10+ bounce. Your 58º would do the work. You've also got a 54º which is very managable. If I remember correctly, Erik uses a 54º only, using Peltz' game.

I use my 56 sand wedge, pitching wedge, and 8 iron. I use the sand wedge usually if I'm short sided and want the ball to stop, or I have a bad lie. Otherwise its the pitching wedge or 8 iron depending on how far I am from the green and how far I want the ball to roll.

I use 5. 8-iron- 9-iron, pitching wedge, 52* wedge and 60* wedge. Different shots require a different club.
Saying that you only need to use 1 club for all chip shots would be like saying you only need 1 iron for all iron shots. Different lofts for shots of different distances.
