Sorry, but this just reminds me of handbags, sunglasses, shoes, and makeup.

This kind of cutesy brand crap is turning some golfers into sex-and-the-city she-males.

"Ooh! Did you see the new Scotty cap with the little doggies? I MUST HAVE IT!"

That hat was a tad homosexual IMO. I have nothing against gay people but I wouldn't wear that.

Don't see the problem here, the hat was actually pretty cool, I'd wear it.

I don't mind people being stylish (although thats generally not me) but this falls into the cutsey brand crap category not "this looks cool so I'll wear" category. ...IMHO

Well, god forbid someone wants to wear something nice on the golf course. A lot of boring outfits on the golf course.

It's nothing as benign as wanting to wearing something nice on the golf course. It's the INSANITY of having to have the latest fashion accessory, like Paris Hilton.

For example: So if someone said "I have $150 burning a hole in my pocket, what should I get?" I would not say "Oooh...that new Scotty headcover - swoooooon!!!

I think that hat looks kinda cool. If I were still a Titleist guy, Id buy it. Compared to what some of the other unique Cameron stuff goes for, $40 for a hat really isnt that bad. Ive seen some of the limited-edition Cameron putter covers go for $200+.
I think its one of those things where it you need someone to explain it to you, then you will never understand.

Yeah, except 70% of the people trying to look stylish on the golf course are failing, because pale white with a 40 inch waist doesn't go to well with those orange pants. I can't tell you how many 40 year old guys that try to dress like Sergio. All the best dressed players I've seen keep it simple, but the difference is their fit and their clothes fit them.

Well, I am new to all of this, having been exploring golf for the last two months.
But, yeah it all deals with style. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't certain pro golfers have their own line of clubs, and stuff as well as clothes? Commercialism. Stick your name on a product and zippo it's for sale.
Golf I understand it, was for the rich country club dudes with the bucks to join such.
Golf for the masses like me...is simply a game to play and enjoy. Until such time as one wraps their driver across a tree!

It's the same consumerism that has wrapped it self around sports, and any kind of product one wishes to sell to the paying consumer.
The wealthy like to show off their wealth...thus the demand for proper clothes in the country club and on the course..opps, spreading into the clothing thread.

It's the American way to make a buck. Some swimmer gets caught sucking on a pipe filled with pot and wham he's off the breakfast cereal box! Apologies go out, rehab, and now he's back in good graces and selling bathing suits... or some other crap line of must have's.

Paris Hilton...no, i won't get started with that mess.

I wear jeans when I play...no one says anything. It ain't no fancy ego tripping social club...just a bunch of guys and women playing a sport they love.
Enjoy the game...forget about the fancy crap...i gotta wrap my driver across a tree!

Awww, boyfriend, who wouldn't want to sashay down the 18th? Lol! 19th hole?? "Oooh, Appletini!" Lololol. The metrosexual tsunami has slipped into golf too. Try buying normal everyday clothes nowadays. You have to sift through the the flaming stuff to find a pair of men's pants. Let's just be happy that the majority of golf clothes are still normal. Did you hear about the new TW assless chaps? They're available in strawberry and fuscia...

I would wear that. Got a pair of white pants like that, one in black, one in brown and a couple checker pants in blue and light brown. Coolest ones are the white and brown.

Got a variety of shirts and jackets, most of them in bright colors, no gray ones, I hate gray. Some black, some all white, some blue, red, green.

    • Day 37, June 10.  Today was primarily WFH, so I had several practice sessions (indoors, off a mat, into the net).  At least one each of U, 9, and 6-iron full swings with the usual priority.   I also tried a few times a putting type stroke with my 4H, as something I should probably learn how to hit (and what it does), but the mechanical shot at home off a mat doesn't tell me much of what it's doing.  That's something I should probably try on a real green, not during a round until I've tried it.
    • Day 10 (10 Jun 26) - Played in the midweek shootout at my home course - on aerated and sanded greens - day of trying to figure tempo to get the best roll on the greens.  Approach game was decently solid as was shots off the tee.
    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
