Did you do the TP version? or one of the standard R9's? I get $199.99 with the 460.

Standard. I'll try it again and see what I get.

I stand corrected!! Wow, that is a good deal! I priced one Friday and it was 299.00. I am glad I didn't buy it.

I am extremely tempted to get one now, even though my bank credit is screaming from my purchases earlier!!

What's the difference between the R9 460 and the regular R9, and why is the regular R9 (not the TP) more expensive? I thought the 460 would be more expensive since it's newer and has a bigger club head volume.

I believe it's because the regular R9 has the moveable weights, whereas the 460 does not.

The R9 460 is for the masses.
Shaft adjustments only, head weights are fixed.
$200 is a full $100 better than prices I have seen elsewhere.
Some of the reviews I have read compare the fixed weight head to the R7 Limited. The one player I know who has actually demo-ed and ordered R9 460 DID find the shaft adjustments useful. He especially liked the Upright adjustment. Some how they talked him into a special order shaft, though?

Doesn't the R7 Limited also have moveable weights though? For $200 bucks though this is a steal, you could probably turnaround and ebay it for a profit, as all of my local shops still have this priced at $299.

Yes, R7 Limited did have movable weights, 3 ports.
I rechecked review here at The Sand Trap.
TM keeps pumping out so many models it is hard to keep track!
My friend who ordered the R9 460 with upgraded shaft may be shocked to see the price drop BEFORE he actually takes delivery of his club!
Meanwhile his 2 year old Nicklaus driver seems to know its days are numbered so it has begun to drive longer and straighter .
Another foursome member bought Titleist 909D2....
hit it very long for a week... now settling in at same distance as his TM R7!
Guess that is why I always shop for year old technology on EBAY.
Years ago I tried the build your own component gig...
That got old real fast... although I still have my 50 inch BIY putter !

Was he swinging harder at first or something? I tried out the TM R9 and the Titleist 909D2(which I purchased) and the D2 was about 5-7 yards further than the R9 on average. How did his distance "settle in?"

D2 player never really tried out the R9... too gimicky for his taste.
He even left the weights in the R7 in neutral position.
I played with him today and still see distance as equal to his R7.
We have been partners for 10+ years so I know his game well.
From what I can see the D2 resists the draw he put on the R7.
Distance difference comes once the ball is on the ground.
Carry might be longer with D2 but roll out from the R7 was longer.
D2 is 9.5, R7 was 10.5 which defies logic...
BTW I do the the "snap" sound of the D2 when hit solidly!

Okay, I gotcha. I thought you meant something might be wrong with the D2.

It is 200.00 everywhere. I just saw it at Dicks for the same price.

Are you sure that they're $200 everywhere? I just looked it up and even ebay doesn't seem to have that good of a deal.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
