dudes
i just returned home from a SWEET a$$ practice session
wedges - its all i worked on today for 2 hours
i hit 4 large buckets of balls at ranges from: 25, 35, 65, 75 yds - one bucket per range

from 23-35 yds i would say i averaged 75-80% within 10ft or closer
from 65-75 i averaged 45-55% within 15ft, i counted about 15 balls within 6ft at each yardage as well
i even holed one at 65yds - one hop and trickled left into the hole, i had a sh*t eating grin on after that!
next shot was within inches

its days like this, that get me pumped to play the next round, because i have soo much confidence in my game
even if i cant get off the T, i know i can get up and down from there

i love to practice as much as i do to actually get out
because i know that things will be solid

i have dropped my index from a 9 or so to under a 4 in less than 2 months - all short game boys
i honestly have hit no more than 3 buckets (small) on the actual range in this time

anyone else an idiot like me!!?? hahah!

anyways, wanted to share w the sandtrap boys!

Ah I had a great practice round today with my high school team. Should I drop my handicap because of it? lol. I think I may put it down from a 5 to a 4. I shot 35 (-1) yesterday in a high school match, and a 34 (-2) today in the practice round.

I love golf. :))

I know that feeling and I love it. It just gives you so much more confidence in your next round, and you're able to fully commit to shots you otherwise might second guess.

For me, the big confidence builder, the practice that give me that same grin is when I can go from hitting a good driver on one shot, and then hit 9i or wedge on the next shot, and basically be able to go back and forth between the two with good results every time. It keeps me from getting locked into a certain swing or a certain distance. I used to fight that pretty regularly.

I absolutely get excited after a good practice session. Ive had many instances where I fixed a flaw in my swing or found some new trick that worked really well and couldnt wait to head out to the course, so much so that I couldnt sleep or couldnt focus at work.

Nothing....and I mean....NOTHING....will boost your confidence more than well placed confidence in your short game.

Knowing you can get up and down just relaxes you to swing freely.

Congrats on the improvements.

No No No.

I am always aware that tomorrow is a new day. What worked today will not always work the next day. We are always adjusting in golf. I just want some improvement on the range. But tomorrow is another day. After 46 years of golf, you learn a thing on two.

Psyched after a good practice session? Of course I am. Unfortunately I haven't been hitting that great lately, but I feel I'll be able to get myself on the right track soon.
