Bored and curious (a deadly combo to have in college classes) What tunes do you like to listen to, if at all, while playin' the course. Given you have a preference, or perhaps just listening to talk radio?

Honestly, I just stick my Iphone in the cupholder and put my whole song list on shuffle.... everything from Marvin Gaye to Dave Matthews to Gucci Mane. Sometimes I just go without the music when it feels right

I listen to music nearly every waking hour EXCEPT when playing golf.

Agree. Couldn't possibly deal with that on the golf course, or even on the range.

Besides, for me golf is a social game. Talking with your companions while walking or waiting is part of the game. Nothing pisses me off more than trying to carry on a conversation with someone who is more interested in what he's plugged into than he is in the person in front of him. I find people who can't unplug when they are in the company of others to be dreadfully rude.

I too do not listen to music while playing. However, if there is a basketball or football game on Im interested in while playing, I'll pop in the ear buds for that.

if i'm in the mood, i'll turn up my ipod....except my ipod is horrible on shuffle! hah, it'll go from james brown, to the red hot chili peppers, to mexican music, to blues, i just listen to everything! :) my play isn't disturbed either way though, music doesn't phase me, however i enjoy playing without music more cause i love the natural music the course has to offer.

I don't feel as strongly about this (people zoned out and plugged into their iPods) in general, but I agree on both accounts. I have my iPod with me everywhere I go except the range or the course, and I've never tried playing while listening to music. I like to get in the zone and concentrated.

Although I tend to over-think on the course, with the dreaded specific mechanics thoughts mid-swing, so maybe I should try this as a way to purposefully distract myself a bit...

I don't listen to music while playing I do get songs in my head while playing but never really listen to my ipod. I do listen to my ipod on the practice range, usually Joe Bonamassa or anything with a smooth rythmn I do like to listen to music before one of my clubs tourneys, something that gets you feeling good. Ipod on shuffle is cool on the range but Disturbed is hard to hit balls to.

I would like to a bit more often when i am playing by myself. I always feel that if i have music on, I might not hear 'fore' or someone shouting from down the fairway saying that i have dropped my head cover or something.

Never listen to music while golfing. I'll sing out loud all sorts of songs. Now that's something that you do to annoy the sh!t out of your playing partners.

I like to play a shuffle of slower hits like Jack Johnson and Jason Mraz or even classical guitar if I am focused on a certain aspect of my game.

Two of my favorite artists of all time. Good choices.
