Well, it has been hovering in the 40's all damn week and frankly I'm sick of it. Usually we have at least a day or two a week where we have mid 50's, but no such day in sight. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 46 and it will be partly cloudy. Should I go play or should I wait it out... nothing looks good in the 10 day forecast and I don't think I can wait another week anyways. Also, none of my friends can play tomorrow, so it looks like I'm going to have to go it alone should I go.

Do it dude. I've been out there every week the past couple of months. Our weather is very simnilar as we are only 75 mi apart. As long as the wind doesn't blow 30+ MPH then 40 degrees really isn't that bad.
Hope you enjoy your round!

i play all winter long. even in snow flurries.

go play golf son.. dont be one of those "fairweather" golfers that we always make fun of.... you know.. the sissies that run off the course when it rains.. the ones all covered up in down jackets and beanies when its just 30*.. and the ones complaining about playing in 30mph wind....

embrace the challenges. it'll make you a tougher man and you'll enjoy it..... when its over....

I don't think playing in the 40's is bad at all. I'll be playing tomorrow and the high is supposed to be about 45. Played Christmas Eve and it was about 40.

If it's going to be really windy and cold, I won't play. The wind kills me.

I'd go play if I were you.

I'm going out today, high of 39* forecasted. As long as it's not windy, I don't think playing in the 30s is too bad if you're walking.

I took my kids out on Christmas Eve and it was 42 degrees and very windy. I'm not sure I would do that again. We had a grat time and I'm sure that they won't forget that experience. I hit one shot shot w/ a cross wind that probably still hasn't come down yet!!

It is 15* in Providence today and windy. I would kill for some lovely 40* weather so I could go play golf.

I'd go ahead and set a tee time for noon. You'll then play during the warmest part of the day.

What part of NC are you in... isn't it supposed to rain tomorrow? You should just come out with me today.

I know... I lived in MI for 25 years and NW OH for another 3 years... and now I'm complaining about 40's in December... I used to dream of 40's just so the snow would melt. I am going to go play (in about 1 hour), but I still wish we would get some of that nice 55 and sunny weather sometime soon.

Enjoy your round... we don't get much snow in Texas and have had three days of it in the past few weeks, put a damper on holiday season golf outings...

It hasnt been 40 for about a month here in southern illinois, last time i played was sat after thanksgiving, was almost 70 that day. Its about 32 and snowing right now. I cant wait for a 45 deg day to go out. I have played a couple times when it was cold, about 35-40, and without wind and walking it wasnt that bad. Ive been off for the holidays and cant get a good day, might try one of those places with indoor simulators but none of them real close to me, closest is almost 100 miles away, one in decatur and bloomington and down at the gambit in vienna, which was where i played at last with a friend of mine who lives down close to there, he had won a free round in a scramble earlier in the year and it only cost me 20 buck to play 18 with a cart, which even for offseason is very reasonable for such a nice course.

Playing Saturday. Weather forecast says 2C (36F) - it hasn't been above 5C (40F) for a couple of weeks!

What's all this debating about whether to play when it's in the 40s?? that isn't cold - it's just refreshing!

(And it's an incentive to keep moving and play quicker!)

While I agree that the OP should play in this case, I dont play in the rain unless I absolutely have to. I just don't enjoy it at all if the course is saturated, but I hardly consider myself a fairweather golfer. I'll definitely play in extreme cold or wind, but rain just sucks. And why is it bad if someone bundles up if it's cold? I actually love the cold, and can go out in short sleeves in 30-40° weather, but I don't look down on someone for doing what they have to do to stay comfortable. I just don't see why anyone should feel guilty for doing whatever they need to do in order to enjoy the game.

I'm with Apex on this one.

We don't get snow a lot, but we've gotten enough recently for the courses to remain closed.

The sad part is that I work for Texas Tech and we're off on holiday from Dec. 23rd till January 4th and I've only gotten in one round and that was before the snow hit.

Wanted to get out today but called and course is still shut down.

Today it was high of 48 with 15mph wind. OOOOHHHH how I wanted to go golf.
