So I have a 100 dollar store credit and I need an approach wedge. I want a forged wedge so Im trying to decide between the callaway X-forged chrome in pic below

and the Callaway X-tour wedge

Ive held the X-tour wedge before and it felt pretty good. Anyway is the X-forged better than the X-tour?

Also Im thinking of getting a new 3 wood since the wedge isnt 100 bucks. Thinking of the Nike Sasquash, is that one any good?

Thanks guys, hard to buy equipment online without advice from others.

i use the X-tour. no complaints...but a wedge is a wedge to me. i'm not too picky.

as for the NIke Sasquatch, I prefer the older Nike Sasquatch models over the newer SQ Dymo stuff.

but again, modern day golf equipment are all "good" its mostly personal preference... asking a group of strangers if one thing is "good" is pointless.

I've hit both wedges and they're both great. The forged one felt a tiny bit smoother when hit to me, but that's just me.
As for the Nike 3 wood, I agree with golfro. I prefer all of Nike's older models than the Dymos and everything else they have released.

Be aware that Callaway X-Forged and X-tour wedges tend to have very high bounce. I really like the 56.14 and use it as my bunker club (and short greenside semi-lob shots).

Could give better suggestions if you put "What's In My Bag" segment in your sig line. I'm not sure what wedges you already have.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Ive only got a 56 degree ping w tour wedge. I want an approach wedge, around 51 or 52 degrees for shots around 100-110 yards. I cant hit my sand wedge that far and my pitching wedge would fly over the green about 20 yards with a full swing.

i use the X-Tours, but in the Vintage finish (chrome looks to hard to me-and i hate the sun blinding me)
VERY VERY VERY happy w them
but they are soft
this is my second set, i went through my last ones in one season (4 months approx)
but i practice w them twice a week and golf 4 rounds a week too
i like fresh wedges

these will likely get replaced half way through the year

props on Callaway wedges for sure

PS - if its any consolation, i REALLY like the Nike Tour SV wedges. They are older but have a super good weight and feel & classic shape (way better than the VR wedges)

I use the X-forged Vintage 56.14...I really like the wedge comes with a golf pride tour velvet grip and dynamic golf shaft. It hits really smooth compared to my old wedge IMO.

I have the X-Forged wedges and love them. The X Tour felt a little too dead to me, I guess if thats how to explain it. When I hit the two, I can feel the sweet spot on the X-Forged better than the X Tour.

Does your wedge have to be Callaway? If not try out the Nike VR or Mizuno MP wedges. The Nikes are very very good and last a long time too. I've had my lob wedge 15 months now and the grooves are as good as new. I think it is available in a 52 degree option.
As for the 3 wood the SQ is a pretty good club, if you can get a good price on it go for it.

yea it was actually the sasquatch 2 3 wood, same as Tiger, I checked his site. On his site it shows all he uses.I was limited to what they had where I got my store credit, they only had the VR black finish wedge as far as nike and it was kind of expensive. I went to the golf store and demo's the x tour and the x forged. I actually liked them both but I felt more accurate with the x tour because it was slightly lighter and compact.

btw, put a whats in the bag signature on my profile, also does anyone know where the degree sign is?

Superscript 0, or o. I turned off the special feature and have to rely on ' or *.

    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
    • This isn't some kind of natural fact. It's a lot more complicated than this implies.
