My new one is in!

2.2

I'm pretty happy with it at this point. My last 5 scores are 69,72,73,70,72. Posted a 74,72 (in a local tournament this past weekend) So with my last 10 scores, and those tournament posts.. My computer handicap calculator says 2.2

I've come a pretty far way this year. I know for sure that I need to work on sand shots a bit more, and bump and runs. I've been on the 2nd cut with a long distance to the hole and I've been creating too much back spin on my long chips. They check up after my 2nd or 3rd bump and leave me about 5-6ft short. Most of the time that's a makeable putt, but not always.

I'll still be playing a lot in the Fall and then working on just swing fundamentals, 100/in, and putting over the winter months.

Just curious where you stared in Feb/March... and where you are now?

Hmm, Mine probably rose one or two strokes, probably somewere near 13 now. Made a swing change so didn't see it really hit home till last week.

Started unrated at the end of May, still unrated now, though with a 58 on 9 holes for a 62.4/100 9-hole course (my only rated round). So I'd be at the max if I kept hitting that poorly.. bleh.

Well...I started without one, posted all my score and got it down to a 9.2, but started changing my swing ( keeping right knee straighter, stop head swaying, and more weight on front foot ) around a month ago and it is climbing at around 12 now.....hopefully get it sorted this winter and get back down to single digit next summer.

I was hitting a lot of fairways and greens in the spring, and a couple scores from my first 5 were my lowest differentials of the year. The first official index was 4.9, but I started playing courses with lower slope ratings (and greens fees!?!) the rest of the summer and the index has been inching up ever since - now at 6.9. I'm hitting better shots with every club in the bag except one right now - the driver - my overall ball striking is better than at the start of the year, but my driving is getting me into some tight spots. Oh well, soon I'll be putting the clubs away for the winter.

I just started really playing this year / end of last year. Took a few lessons. I would say I'm not around a 16 hcp. Not bad I don't think for starting out at a 28 hcp at the beginning of the season.

started as an "unofficial" 2.9, then up to as high as 5.9, now at a 3.6
had intentions of scratch...then realized what a dumba$$ idea that was (had a baby this summer)
tried to get down to a 2.5 or better...but the snow will fly in leas than 6 weeks for us....so the season is ending soon

but, i am interviewing coach's for the winter
gonna spend some dough, keep sharp over the winter and try to make a run at a 1 or better for next year

Went up about 1.2......... played 4-5 rounds since June 1st, and posted rounds in the low to mid 80's. Too hot to play here in the summer. I play the majority of my golf between Sept. - May

My new one is in!

Congrats, man, that's awesome.

I started in February with a 20.2 and it ballooned up to 21.8 by May. I was playing horrific golf, lowest round to that point was 94. Got some new irons in June and in July I scored a personal best 90. From that point on my game has been improving, as well as my swing, and I got down to 84 in August and have had some 89s between then and now. Feeling really good about where I'm heading. I'm down to 18.8 on my NCGA handicap . The real test for me is coming next week. Playing a pretty tough course for the first time and my goal is to score 90 or better. If I can do that I'll know I truly have made some good strides with my golf game. I played a similar course in terms of ratings (70.4/130) in April and shot 94. Over the winter I really need to work on my putting and <80 yards and in. I'm going to be working a bit more so I plan on playing less and practicing more.

I finished the summer at a 11.9, finished off the summer with a bang. My last 5 rounds were under 82, but golf is pretty much over for me this year. Allergy season and the golf course is the wrong place to be this time of year, if we get an early frost I can play some golf in October, but all the sneezing is distracting to my playing partners and me!

My "unofficial" in Feb/March was at 36. Really not so good.

Official started in April and was 25.

I'm a 15.6 now officially. So I'm very pleased with my progress.

I'm in a 9 hole golf league, so we keep 9 hole handicaps. Mine went from a 10.2 at the beginning of the season to a 7.8. I'm pretty happy with the way my game has been going, but now that the season is over I'm worried that it'll go to crap.

BTW, I believe I can get a 18 hole handicap by simply doubling my 9, right? Although I think playing as a 15.6 sounds pretty tough for me.

I've played a lot this year and this is the first season I've been serious about practicing. I've brought my index down from a 10.8 to a 4.8. Been hovering between 78-82 for my last 9 rounds. As soon as the bad thoughts go away when putting, I hope those scores will start to drop...
