So, apparently, he does plan to play sometime this year. It's not a guarantee, and whether or not that will be his first event back remains to be seen, but apparently he plans to play 8/31/11. http://www.golf.com/golf/tours_news/article/0,28136,2083261,00.html

yea I saw that, thats encouraging news. I'd like to see him get alot of practice behind public eyes before he plays though and come out guns blazin, which IMO what he needs to do

Hell YES!!!  I love tiger, i miss watching him play.  Golf just isn't the same without him

I told you all he would play this year. I'm still sticking with my prediction that he comes back at Firestone or the PGA.

I definitely hoping he'll play, but it should be obvious that this announcement has a big unspoken qualifier - health permitting.

But then again, what the hell do I know?
