Hello all. Figured I'd finally introduce myself. I've been reading the forums for the past couple of weeks. Played for the 1st time in Dec and have played a few times since. I've really been getting into this game. I finally made a par just this past week. But first a little more about myself. I'm an active duty Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan. And for the clubs I'm currently playing they are from Pinemeadowgolf.com. They are from their Command line. I'm really enjoying playing them also. They feel good at least to me. But this place seems like a decent place to find out about gear and instruction. I'll be posting pics of my clubs and probably video taping my swing here in a little while. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the game!

I spent some time there as well with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children, back in the late 80's, down south at Camp Kinser.  Played a lot of golf at Awase Meadows, which unfortunately closed down about 2 years ago.

Enjoy your time on Okinawa.

I'll check out those threads mvmac . And Dave Awase Meadows has turned into Taiyo golf course. Which I've played a few times and actually was where I played for the first time. In my limited experience not a bad course but seems awfully tight and narrow for a newcomer to the game such as myself.

Glad to hear it's back up and running.  A lot of history there.

Tight, narrow and not a lot of flat lies.

Play it well and you'll play just about anywhere well!

Thanks for the warm words everyone. And David....you are right. I don't play it regularly but when I do....I keep getting better.
