I have to say paying the 350 bones for a scotty cameron name brand putter that has weight displacement features and nice "black finish" is really nothing to get excited about. I just bought this beauty today and I have to say. Worth all of 150 on it

Nice new putter.  Do you like it so far?

What does scotty cameron have to do with it?

I'm amused at the people that shell out for a Scotty thinking it will solve their putting problems, then post all over the internet that Scotty's are overpriced and that there are significantly better options out there. Scotty's are beautiful, well-made putters, but they aren't forged with magic dust that makes the ball go in the hole just by looking at it. I could probably out-putt most people I play with using a mini-golf putter, but my Scotty is a bit more solid.

You just got it yesterday. I'm curious, how do you know already that it was "an upgrade" and worth what you paid for it? Seems to me that the only way to determine either of those two criteria is to see if it reduces your number of putts over an extended length of time. Congratulations on a your purchase. I hope it does improve your scoring!

Odyssey makes good putters; I've used the same Odyssey since 2005 or so.  I've never owned a Cameron, because I can't see the point in spending over $300 for an off-the-shelf putter.  People love their Scottys though--seems to be the most popular putter out there, so they must be doing something right.

I just personally feel like right after getting this bad boy out of the package it started doing things the scotty couldnt. dont get me wrong the scotty cameron newport select I had worked great but was too much "club" for the high handicapper that I am. iF that makes sense. the ball comes off of the face way too fast for me. I felt as if there wasnt much control in the feel of the club. Plus the weight distrabution wasnt to my liking either. with the Metal X the weights can actually be changed out. from 350 g, 360 g and 370g. Scotty has this ability too but the weight differential is a little too drastic. I respect everyones opinions and golf is like politics you cant really change someones opinion on what works best for them. just make suggestions on what works for you and apply those to your game and see if it works. The odyssey putter ive played with four times now and my putting in those four rounds has dramatically gotten better believe it or not. being able to change the weight on the club works especially well if playing course based on the speed of the greens. I will stand by what I said before though the Scotty Cameron is just too expensive for the putter and the odyssey does a better job for me and I was able to get more for half the price. not to mention when i returned the scotty I got store credit at Rodger Dunn and got the putter, three dozen titelist balls and a new pair of addidas powerband shoes. I have to agree that every putter is different and what ever helps that is what you use. I had a SC and loved it but once I went to a mallet my putting was much better. This is the second mallet I have had the first was a Rossa but was stolen so I just picked the same one you got Odyssey Metal X Dart.

But I have to say my friend has some no name old putter and is amazing with it.

To me a putter is special and has to produce no matter the name or the cost.

What works for you is what is best and that goes for ALL clubs. I switched to Rossi 2 a long time ago. I recently retired it for a Yes Eleanor. As for the expensive putters, I guess if paying a lot for a putter makes you somehow putt better, then fine.

I tried out the putter above and couldn't get past the alignment system. Thought it was ugly and distracting but that is just me.

And as far as TM goes, they don't cost any more than anything else, so what's the deal?

this is true, yet it must be the same towards irons, drivers, wedges... so why does everyone including 20+ handicappers to get rocketballz, or titleist 712, or taylormade MB....? you can't hide from the fact that everyone wants name brand because they have the most PROFESSIONALS using them..

People shell out 300 bucks on a driver they use maybe 10 times a round but complain about a 300 dollar putter that on a great day they use 28 times.

Just saying

Nope used a scotty newport 2, was a nice putter but just hit more putts with this, ugly or not your right what ever works for you. To me the money for equipment is not the issue, it will last and is an investment. But you can buy the top of the line most highend and not hit the ball to save your life oh well.

If it is all about the name brand you have and not the game bummer.

I have and old Odyssey white steel 2 ball blade, and all though my putting isn't amazing, it's pretty good, and I love this putter.

    • Why should SuperSpeed get 3x of Stack's profits? I get the part about SuperSpeed wanting damages sustained as a result of Stack, but I don't get why SuperSpeed feels that they're entitled to both Stack's profits and damages.   Does anyone know/think SuperSpeed actually has a case here?

Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. The deletion of all false advertising distributed and recall of all packaging containing false advertising and a requirement that Stack System issue notices (written or otherwise) to that effect to all current distributors and retailers of its products and all distributors with whom Stack System has done business in the past eighteen months. Written confirmation within 30 days of an injunction detailing the manner and form in which Stack System has complied. An order that Stack System disseminate corrective advertising informing consumers, the trade, and the public of Stack System’s unlawful conduct. 3X all profits received by Stack System as a result of its unlawful actions. 3X all damages sustained by SuperSpeed (as a result of Stack System’s actions) The cost of the action All reasonable attorney fees All other relief to which SuperSpeed are entitled and such other or additional relief as just and proper. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
