Ok, Im a convert...the Pro V1 and 1x balls rock!!!!

I don't know that many people would argue that ProV1 and ProV1x balls are great products. I think the argument centers on the cost-benefit of using them. I'm personally a fan, but not exclusive user.

They work like magic. I switched exclusively to ProV1Xs last year and I can tell how much more spin around the greens I get. They feel much better all around than other balls that I have used. Better off my driver and irons as well.

I always use them for tournaments, but practice rounds are another thing. Due to their cost, I'm that one guy who can be found walking along the edge of a lake looking for easy finds that other people "forgot" about and took a mulligan for, so long as there isn't anybody waiting on me without someone in front of me.

I really like the ProV's combination of feel, spin, and distance. They really are the best ball out there, but Titleist charges accordingly. I have been using Maxfli U4s lately and they feel like butter and spin like crazy but I lose some distance with them, however they are only $30/12.

Tough to unequivocally make that claim. Might be best for you. There are a lot of people that would argue that there are better balls out there.

It was a tough sell for me, I'm notoriously cheap and for the majority of the summer I played budget balls. Eventually the endless barrage of commercials on the golf channel made me curious enough to check out the B330-S. It was a big improvement over the Noodle I had been playing. Yeah I know big surprise. Anyway I picked up some distance with the B330 and I definitely liked the feel around the greens so I took the bait and decided to try the Pro V1 and I must say I was impressed enough to justify the cost. Sucks losing one but holy cow does the ball perform. I've been playing better after some swing adjustments and changing clubs but I can honestly say the change to the Pro V1 has made a difference too. The last 3 times I've been out I hit every par 5 in two and got up in down out of the sand with 1 putts using the Pro V1.

I play the ProV1 and it does make a difference.  I have had luck buying them at discount around the area from people who don't use them or got them as a gift.  Check Craigslist.  I payed $35 for 15 a month back, new.

 

Also, they really do seem to be more durable than other balls I've used.  Definitely more that the 2011 NXT Tours.  That ball scuffed real easily.

 

Lastly, I keep saying this, but will again.  ProV1 and 1X are made in the USA in Fairhaven, MA.  

 

Yeah of course that is an IMHO statement, but one that I have arrived at after playing for 25 yrs, and 3x per week over the last year, and having hit every ball on the market, whenever I pull a PV out of the bag, I get an instant 'wowthatsnice' reaction when I hit it.

Anyone tried the used or refurbished PV1?

No, but I've bought the older editions of them from Sports Authority.

Don't buy ANY refurbished ball.  If you want to buy used buy RECYCLED instead.

That's what I did with the B330. DSG had them maked down to $28 for a while. I haven't seen any deals on "last years model" PV1. With the snow starting here, which BTW looks to be enough to still be on the ground when the temps rise this coming weekend, I'll likely use all my Golf Galaxy and DSG rewards to buy and stash some PV1's over the winter. I've experimented enough that I think it's the ball for me.

I saw the reviews and I figured as much. Quite a few people complaining about the refurb balls. But you never know with reviews. I get bad reviews on the net about my biz that I know are BS.

I have to agree about the feel and the sound of the proV1 coming off the face of the club. I wish my swing was as sweet. And you know that you are on a nice course when it is proV1's that you are finding in the weeds looking for your ball 

 

I found 6 of them at Musket Ridge in MD last weekend. I'll probably just end up transplanting them to a course here in VA. I'm like a golf ball migration service :)

I play the Velocity. However, I get a lot of Pro V1's as gifts doing business. I played 9 after work earlier this week and decided to try a Pro V1 after the first 3 holes. I haven't wanted to use them since I'm still learning, which is why I have played cheaper balls like the Velocity. All I can say is WOW. On my last six holes, I was one under (5 Pars and a birdie). That is probably the best stretch of golf that I've ever played. Was it the ball? Most likely not, but once I hit one good one, it did inspire some confidence. Needless to say, I will start my next round with a Pro V1.

I'm surprised no one on here mentioned the Kick X ball.  http://kickxball.com/ I know Dave from Golf Evolution uses them.  I guess they are affiliated with Medicus Golf somehow.  They are a Pro-V1 quality ball, but for less jing.  $40/doz... better than $50!

 

I've never played them, but I know Dave is a good player and he does, so they must be solid.
