I was playing with my cousin the other day at Dear Creek.  I have always had problems with golf shoes, I hate them severly.  Now i just wear basketball shoes or crocs.  After the first nine I went into the bathroom (needed to release the six beers from the front nine).  I didn't notice at the time but when I came out of the bathroom I had put my shoes on the wrong feet.  I finished the round up with ABSOLUTELY no feet pain for the first time in years.  I want to wear them like that again but I don't want to look like a total idiot infront of my cousin.  Does anyone know of any brand of shoe that looks the same no matter what foot you wear it on.  My wife said her white keds did, but I went to the store and they didnt have a 13.

Wait, I don't get it.  You take your shoes off to take a leak?

Reminds me of that old Seinfeld episode where George decides to take off his shirt to go to the bathroom.

Your shoes fit better when on the wrong foot and you hate your golf shoes? Sounds to me like you should find the nearest golf retailer, multiple of them at that, and try different shoes until you find a pair that fits. I've had various experiences with golf shoes, but once I found the most comfortable ones, I wonder why I didn't go there before.

Polishing off a 6 pack on the front 9 might have had something to do with it.....

The lack of pain might have had something to do with the six pack on the front nine.  Try fitting shoes when you're more "alert" and I suspect they will feel better on the correct foot.

I may regret this but I am going to throw out an actual theory here. You could be a supinator which means you walk on the outside of your feet. Wearing your shoes on the opposite foot put the arch of the shoe under the outer part of your foot. This corrected your gait and helped take pressure off your feet and shins. I too have this issue. I have actually taken arch supports and put them in the opposite shoes to accomplish the same thing.

As for wearing the shoes themselves on the wrong foot... C'MON MAN!!! Please don't this. It just makes me sad.

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
