Hi everyone, 1st post so here goes. When i take a shot ive got way too much shaft lean at impact. My hands are way to far in front of the ball and even if i get decent contact my 7 iron flight is more like a 4 iron. Can anyone help me??

Post a swing. That's the response you're gonna get, and it's a good response because… we have no idea why you're swinging the way you do. Could be your head going well forward, could be the ball position too far back… all sorts of other things are possible.

Ok i will get a swing posted. I have seen videos of my swing and my head is pretty stable, my ball position for a 7 iron is usually just infront of centre

Then you may have what most people want. You said your ball flight with your 7i is like a 4i....what’s your 7i distance? If you say 180yds then your shaft lean isn’t an issue.

Ive never struggled for power or distance. Sometimes it feels lile i go to hard at the ball with my hands! When i said its like a 4 iron that when im hitting the ball high. Most of the time it only gets 10 feet off the ground, sometimes less.

Most amateurs flip, but too much negative shaft lean at impact is a bad thing, too. Ball flight too flat with not enough spin. Hard to hold greens, especially with longer irons.

Im the complete opposite. But its all hands. My heads behind the ball, im not too far in front of it, its just as though im pushing forward with my hands

Right, agree. I was just anticipating one of those ‘ I hit my 7i 200yds but don’t want to’ posts.😁

That's like being too rich. Never enough shaft lean.
