I had my left knee scoped, many years ago, to clean up a few ragged edges left over from a previous operation.  The recovery time is minimal.  It takes longer to get over a sprain.

Over here they try and send you home the same day you have the op (they dont like having sick people take up the hospital beds :-P). Cartilage ops are really common these days.
