This beautiful golf club humbled me real quick over the weekend! My home course is in terrible shape and me and the guys decided we needed to go play a real course again. My god the greens murdered me and it was hilarious..not even upset about it either. I've played most of the courses around Gainesville and some near Lake City but this was the first time in over 10 years that I played what I'm going to call a proper golf course! Highly recommend this course if you are in Florida and near Dunnellon!

Just outside of my distance limit for weekend golf, but thanks for the recommendation.  Sounds like a great course!

I've played that course twice now. The first time, like you, the course ate me alive. The last time we played, July 25th, it was pouring down rain here, but according to the radar, it was somewhat clear up in Dunnellon, so we took a chance. Had a great round going.  I was 1 over going into 11, and the sky's opened up. Lightning, rain coming down in buckets, all we could do was get a rain check, and head back home.  It is a great course.

I'm originally from Tampa, so I'll have to make a trip to play here when I get back down there.

I think we are going to try and make it a once a month go to course for our group. It's such a different atmosphere there and I wanna learn that course more for sure! It's about a 1hr 20 minute drive for us, how about you?

Well worth it imo!

I absolutely love Juliet Falls. It's about 3.5 hours from my house, so I've only played it twice. Was just there in early August. Great layout and conditions.

I pretty much fell in love with it as well right when I made that first turn around the corner when the practice greens come into view. For someone who's current home course will NEVER be in that kind of shape it was amazing..lol.

A little over 60 miles for us. About an hour or so, depending on traffic. I live on a golf course, so while I get out and play other courses, it's only a once or twice a month option. I belong to a group that travels to a different course once a month. Juliette Falls is on the list. Then I may get up there one more time for the year. Too many near by courses that are good.

Nice! We all live in a area that basically requires a 60 mile drive minimum to get to some quality courses in either direction. We are honed in on the Ocala-ish area right now, we plan to go play Stone Creek next and a few others maybe a bit further away as well!

Just came home about an hour ago from Ocala. We played SummerGlen. Not a bad course. I like Ocala National up there. I'm pretty centrally located. An hour to Ocala, Tampa, and less to Orlando area courses. Played the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes course, where they play the PNC Father-Son Tournament, last month. So many course, so little time.....

I live in Ocala so Juliette Falls is pretty close and I love playing that course, it’s definitely a good test and it’s always beautiful. As for Stone Creek and Ocala National, they are two of my favorite courses. Two totally different courses and both fun to play.

If anybody is in  the Ocala area, I would also recommend the Ocala Golf Club. I would consider it my home course and while it’s a muni and gets a ton of play, they keep it in really good shape and it’s a fun track.

my get up and go musta got up and went..

    • Day 153: putted for a while using the 2 cups drill inside. Working on bead primarily. Contact was really good.
    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
    • So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.
    • Ah, the old EE in the backswing move. Chest going back and staying down doesn't help.
