I'm certainly not starting a thread to bash anyone, but I'm having a small issue with an item I bought from Global Golf and I was wondering if anyone has had any luck dealing with their cust. service?

Looking through their e-bay feedback, it looks like they work hard to resolve any issues.

Just wondering what the "word on the street" is.....

On my tombstone: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm doing just fine!"

I've bought from them about 10 different times. I've been disappointed about 3 times. Twice now, they've sent me the wrong items. I bought Callaway 3 & 5 woods and received Ping G2 3 & 5 woods instead. The second time I bought a Callaway 7 wood and I was sent a 9 wood. Both times I emailed customer service, and little was done. I received an email from a vice president of something with a 15% off coupon code, but I still have the wrong clubs. You also have to watch their condition ratings. One star means just that, the club will work but its really really ugly. Also, don't forget to read specifics like lie angles and lengths. I once unknowingly bought a 5 wood that had a 47" shaft.

I bought a set of clubs in "Good" condition with original Callaway X-16 grips.
I specifically chose this set over a couple others because it had original grips.

Their definition of "Good" is
These clubs/iron sets have been played quite a bit previously, but still have plenty of play left in them. Ball wear, scratches or light dings can be found on and around these clubs, none of which affects the playability of these items.

They arrived with completely rotten grips. (falling off rotten, totally unplayable)

I've e-mailed them and asked them to split the cost of a re-grip with me.

We shall see if they make it right.
If they make it right, I'll let you guys know.. If not, you'll know because I just won't post anything.

Feel free to PM me if you are interested in their reply.

*also They mentioned that the 8 iron had been re-shafted. What they didn't mention is that it was reshafted an inch shorter then the rest of the set. I would have never bought them had I known that. I'm not asking them to make that right, just the grips.

On my tombstone: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm doing just fine!"

No offense DirtCheap, but if the irons had "been played quite a bit previously" and still had the original grips, wouldn't one assume that the grips would probably be needing a replacement. I change my grips at least once and sometimes twice a year. I don't think you have much of a gripe with the conditions of the grips. However, the short 8 iron is something that I feel you should be compensated for.

Just my 2 cents.

I love Global Golf. I have bought a bunch of stuff and have never had a problem. It just so happens that I ordered a set of Titleist 755 irons yesterday morning and they were sitting on my desk at 11:00 am this morning. I only paid for 3 day shipping but I still received them overnight. They had a 3 star rating and they look like they have been hit maybe a dozen times. The new is barely rubbed off. I would rate these a solid 4 star. Everything else I have bought is always in better condition than I thought it would be in. In my opinion they are the best online retailer for used clubs. I won't shop anywhere else.

No offense taken at all. You probably have a good point.

I guess whats getting me is the fact that they represented them as "ready to play" condition, and they aren't. I'm still holding out hope that they make it right.

Their e-bay feedback would indicate that by far the majority of their customers are satisfied. Thats what gives me hope that they're going to make this right.

I have recently purchased 4 clubs from them and a dozen balls. No problem at all. They have a website to, just so you know. I actually got an 8.5* RSS Hozel Ping TiSi Tec Driver from them for $30.00.. and a precept 18* hybrid for $20.00

Can't argue with those prices, even for the used clubs.

Last night I purchased a Taylor Made lob wedge from them. I'll let you know if I have problems.

I usually try to deal with www.3ballsgolf.com , with whom I've purchased an entire set, balls, etc., and their customer support is excellent. (I have no stake in the company, except good service). I've also had good luck with www.golfetail.com

They told me to send them back and gave me an RMA number.

(sigh)

They were nice about it, but they offered no other solutions except to send them back for a refund (including original shipping).

I just picked up my Scotty Cameron Detour from them (used). I tried to buy it online through their website but when I went to pay via CC, it automatically went to paypal. I wasn't sure if I bought it or was going to end up paying twice. Called in the morning and it was easy enough to fix. That's my only experience with them, and it was good.

In my bag you'll find:

Irons[SIZE="1"] Big Bertha X-Fuision 5 ~ PW (graphite)
Hybrids 3DX Genex 2i (17*) and 4i (23*) (steel)
SW 256.10 Vokey Black Nickle (56* / 10*) (steel)LW 260.4 Vokey oil can (60* / 4*) (steel)Woods G2i (17*) 3w (graphite)Putter 34" Newport Detour

If they follow through and refund my money, I won't consider this a "bad" experience. Just a case of a bad item description.

putting new grips on them can be as cheap ir as expensive as you make it you could buy 1$ grips and get them re gripped at a small golf shop for about 15$ or you could get good win grips for abou 5$ each

I've had similar issues here. I bought from them a number of times and will probably continue to do so, just because the prices are right. My issues have dealt with poor descriptions also. I'd like to know how to retrieve the description once the package is delivered, just so I can see if I missed something. The emails and account tracking only offer SKU numbers.

As far as your situation, you can save the entire web page to your computer. Or you can just cut and paste the text from the page into a word doc.

as far as my situation.. The e-bay page is still up. I've read it several times and had other people read it. They do mention the shaft change, but they say nothing about it being reshafted an inch shorter then the rest of the irons. I'm with you, I'll probably buy from them again. From now on, I'm going to take their description and reduce it by one to two steps.

I have bought from them. I got a single club that the lie angle wasn't mentioned. It turned out to be very upright. They refunded my money, but I had to pay return shipping if I remember correctly.

Thats the deal they're giving me..

They said they would return the purchace price plus original shipping, but I was responsible for return shipping. If I decide to keep them, they would refund the $18 I spent on original shipping.

    • Rule 1.2b refers you to a section in the Committee Procedures (Section 5I) that helps explain what a Code of Conduct may (and may not) do.  Defining acceptable behavior (including smoking) and applying Stroke of DQ penalties are certainly within the Committee's authority. That Code of Conduct certainly should be available, either in written form or in a webpage accessible to all.  It may not show up on the "standard local rules" for an organization, the "hard card", as it sounds like its a policy of this particular golf course. Assuming that's the case it should show up on the Notice to Players for this particular event.  If you can't find it, ask someone, send an email, try to find out.   In summary, yes the Committee can DQ (or withdraw) a Player for smoking, even before or between rounds.  But its up to you to go from there, communication is the key here.

    • Hmm... I not sure I completely understand. If the course has a no smoking policy, then he shouldn't smoke at the course.  I'm assuming since you are aware of the policy, it must be written down somewhere.  As far as getting disqualified from the tournament, I would think that would be up to the committee. But it feels like it is within their power to disqualify, so why take the chance?
