TMZ broke the story. He leaves behind his wife and four daughters, the youngest of which was just born in June.

Very sad.  Kobe was one of the greatest of all time.  Loved when he and my favorite player at the time, T-Mac, went at it.  Didn't like how Kobe had better players to help get the better of T-Mac all the time.  Nonetheless, Kobe was exceptional.  Even MJ said Kobe was the only one that he thought could beat him one-on-one.  Thoughts and prayers for his family.
