Completely missed this one. Got to hand it to the guy, a month after an embarrassing arrest he wins an event. I predict he wins one more.

Does anyone remember him from The Big Break?  Tony Finau was on that show also.

I also found it amazing that he won a tournament so soon after he was arrested.  Due to the fact that he rarely wins, I will predict he will not win another tournament this year.

Considering how badly Phil played last year, who could have predicted that he would be going into the final round tomorrow one shot behind?

So I should predict another win for Tommy?  Unless we're talking about top players, considering how hard it is to win, I will always predict that an average tour player like Tommy won't win.  Keep in mind also that Tommy is not in Phil's league.  Who would have pedicted Marty Fleckman's win?  Predictions are guesses.  Who would have predicted Jordan's stretch of non-wins?  Ot that Palmer would have never won a PGA?  Buckeyebowman, my previous post was totally coherent.

So sorry! The only other response I could think of was, "Who the hell is Tommy Gainey?!" I love golf, but I'm not that golf addicted that I'll watch The Big Break. Don't even get The Golf Channel!

I predict he has to give away half of that check he won, to his soon to be ex-wife. That dude is just gross, a prostitute....really?! Then again the president of Jackson State University just got popped trying to solicit a hooker too. Maybe it's just me, but it's never even occurred to me to do such a thing.

    • I know what those are, and they were unofficial. They were mostly to create conversation… and promote Mark McCormack's own clients. What Matt said is correct: Tiger's career spanned 24 years. Regardless, 15 > 19 when factoring in the competition, and 82 >> 72 when doing so.
    • The McCormack rankings started in 1968. They used a nearly identical methodology as the original Sony rankings. except it was a three year look back vs two. Number of good years and total output is what matters when talking about the span of career.  All years are not created equally.
    • The OWGR didn't even exist until Jack was 46 years old. So… What he said is true. Jack turned pro in 1961. He won his last PGA Tour event in 1986. That's 26 years. Tiger turned pro in 1996. He last won a PGA Tour event in late 2019. That's a span of 24 years. What he said is true. Tiger's "career" (not counting 2020-2024 where he played a handful of events each year, like Jack often would) lasted 24 years.
    • People don't realize it because it isn't true.   Tiger had the following money list rankings in years you are counting as part of his career span. 68, 128, 201, 162, NA, NA, 24, 38, 223, 225   Nicklaus didn't drop out of the top 10 in the world golf rankings until he was 44. Nicklaus had 10 more years where he had a top ten finish in a major than Tiger has had as of now.
