Is it Hogan? As in the Hogan Hawk golf ball?

Hogan is correct, but why?

Since Ben Hogan was known as "The Hawk" it would be in poor taste for Tripp to be sponsored by Hogan Golf for obvious reasons. Master of Bogey receives all 3 points.

Clearly there was intent. Hitting one ball at a bird is intent - hitting several and saying "I'll get him now" just solidifies it. I'm curious to know if the people who think there was no intent are just as calm when some jerk behind them hits into their foursome.

Agreed. I really don't understand how anyone could think there was no intent.

This thread has had a carnival like atmosphere long before my involvement. Besides the "Hawk" would never approve of hurting aninmals and I do believe that Tripps handlers have to be concerned over his marketability at this point and time. He will get past this in time.

Resolution of this matter, at least on a criminal level.

Isenhour pleads no contest in killing of hawk - 08/29/2008 By GolfChannel.com Team ORLANDO, Fla. – Tripp Isenhour has pleaded no contest to charges he faced for killing a protected hawk. Attorney David de Armas said Friday that Isenhour agreed to one year of supervised probation, four hours of anger management classes and 100 hours of community service. Forty hours must be performed at a wildlife or animal shelter. He also must pay a $500 fine. Isenhour was charged with animal cruelty and killing a migratory bird. He was accused of hitting the bird with a golf shot when its loud chirps interrupted the filming of an instructional video in Orlando.

Not nearly severe enough in my opinion.

I saw it on the ESPN website along with some other accompanying articles. Completely disappointed with his actions along with those who were also there that said or did nothing to stop it. A pro like him calling it a "One in a million shot" from 75 yards after the hawk moved in from 300 yards is garbage though. Some of his fellow colleagues responses were equally as troublesome. Sure there are more important things to worry about but that doesn't mean this should be dismissed as a casual incident.
