I do most of my browsing on my android Google phone. I keep getting ads for something I won't specify, but I always report it as either "not interested" or "seen multiple times" - this is on many different websites including this one. What's the point of giving feedback and reporting these ads if it's not doing anything to help me from seeing this garbage any less?

I know what you mean. I don't think they actually care. If you look at the "Why am I seeing this ad?" stuff, it's always for a really generic reason. I mostly just ignore ads these days. I'm so inundated with them in daily life that they're kind of easy to tune out mentally.

It's my opinion, based on a complete lack of knowledge or experience, that doing so (getting that feedback) helps them judge how many people are actually paying attention to the ad...
