Who's tried them? The sale price they have going is almost too good to pass up. I don't have a fitter close, so I can't try them. I currently play Mizuno JPX900 Hot Metal with Project X LZ 5.5 shafts and been thinking about updating.

Thoughts?

There's a PXG fitter in Huntsville and a few near Birmingham.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Dave (my teaching partner) is a PXG account holder, so he brings the regional PXG guys in for fittings from time to time. A lot of people have bought the 0211s and been very happy. They are a great price right now, and I'd really recommend checking them out.

PXG fittings tend to be free, so I'd find someone and get fit. Call PXG and see what your nearest options are.

Talked to the guys at PXG today. They were super helpful and we talked through some options. I know my iron specs and having gone through fittings in the past know what shaft specs suit my game. I ordered a set of 0211's. I had been wanting to give graphite shafts a try. They offered the Accura i80 shafts at no upcharge. Ordering by phone they also offer a 30 day playability warranty. If I don't like the shafts they will swap shafts at no charge (stock shafts). Also give a refund minus a 15% restocking fee if you just don't like them. All this with the special price made it a no brainer to give them a try. 2-3 weeks for delivery and I'll start testing them in my hitting cage (with FlightScope Mevo) against my Mizunos.

They are great clubs.. The feel is just unbelievable. If you know your specs you can basically fit yourself online.

I ordered the Mitsubishi MMT 5 - pw 70R. I ordered the gap wedge with the MMT 60A. OMG what a difference in feel.... I am looking for a set of 60A flex mmt shafts

Part 2..... They nail you pretty good with shipping. An iron set shipped? $60.00 ! I was going to order a SW and lob wedge, however they still want $60.00 for shipping. If anyone in Florida decides to order a set, I would pay pal for the extra wedges plus shipping

$60 may be a little high but have you shipped anything lately? Shipping cost have got up, a quick shipping quote from FedEx is $51.99 from Arizona to Alabama. Clubs are in transit and due to deliver on Wednesday. Can't wait to get them on the launch monitor.

Got the 0211's yesterday. Went directly to the launch monitor with the 7 iron. Picked up 5-6 mph club head speed and 8-10 mph ball speed that equals a full club in yardage gain. I had planned on testing these for a couple of weeks but after hitting about 20 balls with each club they are going straight in the bag. Same gains with every club and they feel is really nice.

Congrats. So is your new 7I more accurate than your old 6I?

Played today, took a few holes for them to get used to me. By the time we made the turn I was hitting them pretty good. I had updated my yardage chart with the balls hit on Monday, numbers were fairly close. Only had a couple of shots in my old 6i distance and hitting a 7, yes, seemed better, but really too small of a sample size to say for sure. Playing again tomorrow.

I mostly meant during your fitting.

The number on the bottom shouldn't matter. It's "do I hit my 165-yard club more accurately than I did with my old set?" that matters.

I get it. Didn't go do a fitting. I ordered the clubs with the same specs from my last fitting. Only thing I changed was going from Project X LZ 5.5 to Accura I80 stiff shafts.

I purchased an 0211 driver that just got delivered today. I'm really excited to get out onto the course tomorrow and give it a try.

I also ordered the Gen 2 0311P irons, which will be here next week. I didn't exactly need new irons (or the driver) but the price was good that I decided to go for it.

My thanks to PXG for these 0211 irons, purchased at Christmas' pricing.   A sweeter feel to an iron I've never had, and having played for over 60 years, I have had swings with many manufacturers' clubs.   What is particularly sweet is the nice "click" off the face at impact.  They also look like a blade at setup.  Pretty irons in every respect.  Have to adjust distances as they are aggressive on lofting, but that's no matter.  Also bought the 0211 driver and love it.  Neat sound, great controlled distance (but then, the grounds hard now here).  Now, if I could only putt.

Yes, shipping is high.  But that's Bob Parsons' thing.  In his first company, Parsons' Technology, he nearly gave away the software at cost but charged an aggressive shipping price to make his profit.  At least, that's what I was told by folks in the company.  Hard to teach old dogs new tricks.

    • Played 9 yesterday at Rowley Country Club. Played a scramble format with my brother as my teammate and shot a 40 together. Wasn't good enough to beat my friends but had a great time. Had a decent few shots highlighted by a 174 yard 4 iron to 8 feet. Missed the birdie of course lol. 18 at Pease today.
    • Some great stories here. I'm more inclined to remember good wedge or iron shots than putts. Here's a few that stand out in recent memory.  #17 at Elizabeth Manor (my home course): Last year at Schaubach Cup. It is the toughest par 4 on the course. Long, uphill, OB on both sides, a large bunker guarding majority of front, another lining the right and a steep fall off on the back. Par is always a great score here. Needed a two putt to go in to flight playoffs. Good drive and a decent 7 iron put me on the green but left a long meandering 45 feet carrom putt with green rolled out to 12 on stimp. All but guaranteed a 3 putt for anyone who knows my poor distance control. This one felt good right from the second I walked up. Saw the six-ish break, and executed almost perfect speed and line for the best tap-in I've ever had. We made the playoffs and lost on the second hole eventually but damn that putt felt good! #14 at EM:  North-South (Ryder cup knock off with our sister course Williamsburg GC). This was one of those 30 footers where you putt up a ridge and let it fall off. Higher you hit, more it breaks. Anyway, read both line and speed perfectly aaaannndd executed to drop it from the side door. Demoralized the opponents and soon after shut the door on them the next hole. They had a chance until then. I had felt like I had turned the corner on match play prowess earlier last year.  #17 Stoneliegh, Round Hill This one was with @DaveP043. A 25 footer from a high shelf to a low shelf, where the putt required to be placed just at the right pace up to the precipice of the upper shelf for it takes the slope to anywhere close to the hole. Had been putting decent all day on fairly difficult greens. Dave gave me a good line and spot to nudge it up to. I took and executed for a birdie! Made it even sweeter since I had just birdied #16. #5 at the 6-hole Par-3 course at Belmont, Richmond: Was having a bit of fun with @iacas. Had a match going with him for a soda. Had to make par from 5 feet to tie him going into the 6th and final hole. The greens had heavy aeration holes so it wasn't exactly a skill test. Anyway, I pushed a nervy stroke for the ball to rim out half an inch away from the hole. On most normal the ball stays out, but lo and behold the large aeration hole cut on the edge of the hole comes to my aid and tilts the ball back in the hole!  I don't know what was more satisfying, the putt or the look of annoyance/disgust on @iacas's face at the ensuing run off celebratory dance. 😂. He managed to save face by beating me by a stroke on the last hole but man that was a fun day!
    • Its not. They are just giving an example in a situation say if cant reach it. Example, You have 230 to the center of the green, you cant hit a club you have that far, so you whip out a 3/5 wood or whatever, but you have to hit it soft because there is trouble in front of the green, a bunker or water. A full swing would land you in the trouble. You want to lay up as close to the green as you can. So you aren't hitting a full shot with that club so for distance tracking you can make that shot a provisional and it wont affect the distance stats.
