Well, if their shaft is correct, then change your head.  What I am saying is if neither is correct and you need to change only one, the shaft is more important.

I haven't hit the new Ping or Callaway drivers, but it's hard to see them as being much better than the Max, at least for me. The Max is very solid and forgiving. My distance is similar to yours.

I hit the G425 a few times. It felt nice but nothing noticeably different than my Mavrik driver.

Ok, if neither is any good then I would try another shaft or new driver...

Vitamin M would determine this.  If it isn't a problem, the new driver.  But understand the shaft is 75 percent, maybe more, of what you need to get correct.  Obviously a very bad head (say wrong loft fir example) needs to be changed

For dispersion control, consider a shaft length between 44” and 45”.

I'm thinking about changing the head because it's more than 10 years old, particularly if you like the shaft your using just want a little more pop...

You should get fitted, only way to go if you want to benefit the latest tech. You just got to make sure the clubs suit your profile. 

I still use my Titleist 917 woods I tried a fitting but well I don't get much better results, I mean I can go up by 4 yards that's about it.

not worth the change I think.

When i picked up my new irons from the shop the owner said he got some new drivers for me to test. So i went for a new fitting. I was suprised  about a driver i didn’t even expect but it is an amazing one. One we all should have a go with. It is the cobra radspeed, as i am seeking more forgiveness in a driver i ended up with the XB version. I got to say i love that one i still hit it about 15 yards further with a decent spin ( about 2800 rpm ) and my dispersion is way better.

Indeed that Radspeed is pretty awesome. And cheap compared to the Callaway, Titleist and Tyalormade brands

      A sand trap is not supposed to have 3 inches of water in it. To me that’s temporary, casual water. Just like if your ball lands in a deep rain puddle in the middle of the fairway. I would have gladly hit out of any spot in that bunker. I understand that it’s a different rule. I just think it’s a dumb rule. You are penalized because it rained.  Here’s what I think is the dumbest rule in golf, and all sports for that matter - professionals playing for millions of dollars in a tournament have to carry around a little pencil and scorecard to keep their score and sign it, when there are big scoreboards all over the course and on tv. Can you imagine the Knicks losing because they didn’t count their score correctly? Like I said, I love the game, but it’s time to move into the 21st century already.

      Sorry, I will disagree. You got a penalty because you hit it somewhere and didn't want to play it from there. Bunkers are not the general area. If you had hit it into temporary water in the general area, you'd be entitled to relief. You hit it into a hazard, a bunker. Why should you get free relief when you hit it into a bunker? If someone else hit it into a different part of the bunker, without water, they'd not get a drop for free out of the bunker. Heck, it'd cost them two strokes if they didn't have an ACC and wanted to drop it out of the bunker.
