Okay, I think this is a really cool idea. I'm not sure how it would play out in reality. Admittedly I haven't actually tried Dollar Driver Club, but here's two scenarios. One which I think it would work great, and another in which I think it might bite you in the butt.

Scenario 1: Let's say you want to buy a new driver. You are trying to decide between 2 clubs. For grins lets say you aren't sure if you want the Ping 425 LST or the Ping 425 Max. You are sure you want to buy one of them, but not sure which. The DDC would be perfect. You send them 360 bucks, you get one of the two drivers. You try it out for a while, then switch it for the other driver. If you like the second one better you keep it and pay the remaining 90 bucks. (Check my math $450-$360). If you liked the first one better you send the second one back, get the first one again and send them the remaining 90 bucks and keep the the first one. Either way, you are pretty much set. You've got to try both drivers for an extended period of time. You found the one you like, and you're only out the $450 bucks you would have paid for the driver anyway.

Scenario 1 works great for the Dollar Driver Club.

Scenario 2: Let's again say you are going to buy a new driver. This time you are trying to decide between 3 drivers. For grins lets say it's the Ping, the Callaway and The Cobra. Okay, you pay your $360 and get the Ping first, you play it for a while. You switch to the Callaway and play it for a while. Finally, you switch to the Cobra and play it for a while. Now, let's say you are convinced that the Ping works best for you. What do you do? The good news is you know which driver you like best. The bad news is you've used up your three drivers.

I'm not sure how Scenario 2 plays out with the DDC.

Anyhow, this is a very interesting concept, which I for one, just heard about yesterday.

I don’t know that all of the $360 goes toward the retail price. They’d be making nothing for their service. And what if you tried drivers for 15 months? It’s not free, I’m sure.

And what are their “retail” prices?

still thinking (I can be slow at times).  As a way to try a club for an extended time it may make sense but they seem to be promoting on-going membership with a new driver (or 2 or 3) each year.  I do not get a new driver every year and that would be costly at $720 for 2 years. Also, with shipping costs I would expect I could get better price at our local shop, just not a 90 day trial.

And what are their “retail” prices?

Their retail prices are shown on the webpage. They are exactly the same price as TGW.com or any other online seller.

I read the back story on this company. They plan to "make" all their money two ways.

1 - They expect everyone to either continually trade drivers from now until forever. Or, they expect you to buy a driver and pay the difference. So, basically they are selling a driver for the same cost as anyone else, they just $360 first and the rest of the money later.

2 - They plan to be selling the used drivers.

According to their web-page and the one review I've read on them (from MyGolfspy... I know.) You DO get your entire $360 toward the price of your driver.

I agree, this is something I'd only do if I was planning on buying a new driver and then I'd only enroll for one year. According to their companies back story. This is what they expect most of their customers to do.

I don't plan to do this. I do think its an interesting idea and I wonder how it will work out.

Not sure if I made a mistake, but below is pricing from DDC anf Carl’s Golfland.  I believe very similar, could be different shaft or loft, but overall similar.

DDC = $730 vs $529
