Proximity When Hitting 18 GIR to Shoot Even Par?

Assume you hit ALL 18 greens during a round of golf and to the same distance from the hole; At what proximity would you expect to shoot even par?

  1. 1. At what proximity to the hole (assuming the same for every hole) would you expect to take 36 putts in a round?

I think of this two ways. What do I expect and what do I hope.  I expect 20-25ft that I'll two putt every time. I'd hope I could from 30-35ft as well.

Sort of how I approached the question. What would I expect? At my home course I would expect to two putt every time from 25 feet but in reality I would likely blow one. From 15-20 feet, I believe that I would either two putt every time or sink one birdie to counter the one three putt.

I did this once for nine holes - hit nine GIR's and every birdie putt was 15-20 feet, all two putts. Not my best nine by any means but maybe my steadiest as I also only missed one fairway and that was by two feet.

I indicated 20 feet.  At that distance I won't 3-putt very often but I also won't make many 1-putts.

Hitting 18 greens in regulation is not going to happen.  I played a round at 5,300 yards and missed three greens.  That is as good as it gets.

Even if you had your favorite wedge distance 18 times in a row, most of us would do well to hit 15-16 greens.

I've hit 15 GIRs twice although the better round, which I consider to be my best ever even if not my best score, I feel like I hit 17 in a row. Missed the first green but after that hit 15 of 17.  One hole I had to pitch back to the fairway (no GIR) but then hit a wedge to two feet to save par. The other miss was on a hole with a funky green. Shot landed squarely in the middle of the green but rolled off the back.

I put down 35'. I very rarely 3 putt, in fact in the 25 rounds I have kept stats on since September I've only had 8 three-putts. I also don't make a ton of long putts either, unfortunately.

Assuming it is my home course and the pins are in the back (uphill putts), I guess 35 feet.  I could make one putt and would be unlikely to three putt on greens that I know well.  If the pins were in the front (putting downhill), maybe 25 feet.  On super fast, tricky, US Open type greens?  Maybe 10-15 feet for me.....I'd probably make three but might even 4 putt once and three putt once or twice if above the hole. I start having distance control issues on very fast greens, especially downhillers.

Went with 20 feet. Usually 1 putt a few per round and 3 jack at least one when I lose focus or have a downhill putt. I suck terribly at speed control downhill.
