I remember seeing movies like this in elementary school. Still it is very good at showing the concept.

This is why these youngsters who like to lift their trucks have issues with u-joints and other drive mechanics changing the angles of pinion gear engagement will eliminate the engineered backlash which will cause unnecessary wear and ultimately damage.
